The McLaren-Mercedes Formula One team has been excluded from the 2007 constructors' world championship and fined $100 million by the World Motor Sport Council in Paris today for its part in the Ferrari industrial espionage scandal.

The biggest penalty ever handed down by the governing body effectively hands the constructors' title to Ferrari, but only punishes the McLaren team. McLaren's drivers, defending champion Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, will continue their duel for the drivers' title at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend in the Belgian Grand Prix.
