Hello,
I'm designing a logo for my friends webpage, and I want to leave the background of my image transparent. However when you save as JPEG for the webpage it saves the transparency as white.
Is there a suitable image type that can be used in a webpage that preserves transparency? I only ask, because I don't know what colour background my friend wants yet.
Sorry if this question is stupid, I just have no idea about this stuff!

You should be able to use GIF with no hassle. I'd recommend PNG, but not all browsers can interpret the filetype's alpha-transparency capabilities.

GIF should work fine indeed!
Just remember to set transparency in the options when saving or else it will still save with white background!

What graphics program do you use beano?
Or did you find the option to set transparency when saving already?

Not sure about that in Photoshop (use PSP myself), but if you can't find it, I'll help you look...
