4.2.1 was released this morning ( November 23,2010) in itunes . DO NOT UPDATE if you still want your jailbreak or unlock for baseband 05.14.02 ......
4.2.1 will not be able to be jailbroken yet . cydia is not compatible but the chronic dev team is working on a update so your gonna have to wait until then to jailbreak 4.2.1 and there is no estimated time of release for the 4.2.1 jailbreak . but even after that is released and 4.2.1 is jailbroken . a new baseband (05.15.04) comes with 4.2.1 firmware so new unlock for 4.1 (05.14.02) will not work . once everything is released we will have it very quickly tested and postedfor everybody...
NOTE: if you do updateand then downgrade back to whatever cuz you have your SHSH saved . your baseband will NOT be downgraded back and will remain with the baseband from 4.2.1 (05.15.04) so be careful.
**iphone 4 ONLY:
you can run TSS server when updating iphone 4 and it will keep your baseband the same meaning you will not loose ability to unlock but keep in mind that if you update to 4.2.1 you will not have jailbreak so wont be able to get... ultrasn0 unlock for you perserved baseband lol but having you SHSH saved, you can downgrade back all the while keeping your baseband same by running TSS server...
(NOTE: this is only for iphone 4 and if you update and your baseband updates there is no way for you to downgrade you baseband and if your dont have your SHSH saved for the previous firmware you will not be able to downgrade back , you cannot downgrade to any firmware that you do not have SHSH saved for)
