Hi Spawn, i was just wondering if you used Nero Recode 2 to encode this video..like you have said that you used in one of your recent threads about this program.

Anyway just wanted to know what was the best

Data Rate setting (12 to 400) ?
1Pass or 2Pass ?
Encoding Quality (Fastest to Extra Quality) ?

what are your settings like those in Nero Recode..when you encode your videos for k700i.

Yes I used nero recode to recode a capture I did with my mpeg2 hardware capturecard - nero recode is my prefered encoder

dataratesettings should be set at 115 to keep combined datarate at 160 which is optimum quality for k700. Set it lower to get smaller filesizes at lower quality if small filesize is more important than quality.

I usually go with 1pass/Extra Quality - 2pass should be better but takes more time and I dont think the difference is really that big.

I think Im going to make a quick guide to nero recode and put on my website soon

I have tried those settings, seems good. I don't really notice much of a difference between 1 pass and 2 pass.....can't really tell the diff...but the file size is about 200-300kb larger when i use 2pass compared to 1pass.

And it takes less then 40-50seconds to encode a 4min clip. So even if i used 2pass, it takes like 1min or so probably. So it's actually not very long.
