No one knows the answer. The one who said this, had died many years ago. And so many things that he/she said will happen, had happened before. Like Hurricane Katrina, etc. And one thing that he/she said is that the world will collapse in 2012. And every one is in doubt if he/she will be right with this one, or not. (This includes me)

I do not think the world will collapse as is being predicted and published everywhere (natural disasters, etc) but civilization as we know it, it is more likely... the amount of living beings over this world has to have a limit, and we will reach the time where there will be no natural resources to sustain life any longer in this planet... will this happen by 2012? I do not know... before that I'll climb aboard my starship and head for the infinite and beyond :D

I don't really think the world will end in 2012. The reason this has come up is because the Mayan Long Count calendar ends its' 5,125 years. So it's just the end of a Mayan Calender, it'll just start over.
Honestly, I believe the best chance for the world to end is in 2036... an Astroid named "Apophis" is on a collision course with Earth, and lets just hope scientist predicted its' path wrong.

Even in the catholic bible you can find this, we just need to be prepared for whatever is coming... in a general way who is prepared doesn't fear, call it a job interview, final exam, death or... the end of the world...
Luke Chapter 21, 25-28; 34-36
25
"There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on earth nations will be in dismay, perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves.
26
People will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
27
And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28
But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand."
29
He taught them a lesson. "Consider the fig tree and all the other trees.
30
When their buds burst open, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near;
31
in the same way, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.
32
Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place.
33
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
34
"Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise
35
like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth.
36
Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man."

I am quoting the bible here the same way anybody would quote wikipedia... It is not my intention to convert this into a religious discussion... peace!

No. Too soon for the world to end. There will be an end but I am sure it is not this soon. And hopefully I don't live to see the day the world ends

I seriously say YES because there is enough talk about this and all the talk about this issue makes me feel that world is going to end in 2012.
