Week 111 was one of the best week's we have had in recent times. we might not have had too many participants, but the entries that we did have showed the level of talent that exists in WPC.

The topic, Fantasy, gave the participants a chance to set their creativity free and let their imagination run wild, and show skills that aren't apparent in 'normal' topics.

Most impressive was Shalu's entry (and the voters support this) which was by far her best work so far. But the other entries were no less inspiring. It takes special talent to take ordinary, every-day photos and transform them into fantasy art. The very restriction that members hated (use of photos only) was also the one that brought to fore their amazing skills of image manipulation.

Thanks to AXR for the topic, and for giving participants the opportunity to try something new.

@HappyYesh.... I m not a photoshop student..What I learnt i learnt from net. My first introduction to brushes was by @dLazaros

By his motivation I started learning from tutorials n i always make my wally from tutorials only.. It took me 3 days to work with pen tool n brush effect..and I guess we all learn from tutorials only!!

mate.. ..we were not born designer and didn't even went to school to learn it.. ..so I guess online tutorials are the only things where we can learn stuffs from.. ..and Shalu didn't just took the final image and posted it here, she went thru the whole tutorial and as you can see, have done an awesome job.. ..so you really can't say she dont deserve the gold.. ..newayz, I'm not that good at explaining things but I hope you got the whole point I'm trying to make.. ..ciao.. ..

Am agree with you tht we are not born designer but the point is she should try something else i mean some other pictures its just a copy she didnt use her brain to make it nor creativity.....so for giving gold to her this time is not fair....

The fact is that we can or dont have to agree with the winners.... but people voted that way and you should respect opinion of the majority. As boxie said in his really great speech this week - we only have 3 trophies to give every week and those who got them - deserve them 100%!

So... lemme say BIG congrats to shalu, davis and AXR on winning, and also BIG congrats to every participant on their awesome wallys!

Tutorials are just for learning, it should not be allowed to copying the whole tutorial here. Effects and brushes can be used with new resources.

i see a lot of posts regarding members' opinion on the winning entry.

To start with, it is fine to use tutorials to make entries. in fact, at WPC we encourage members to read tutorials and apply them.

What you are basically doing is flaming a member for having found a good tutorial and applying her skills to put it to use.

To some it might seem unethical that a member has followed a tutorial step by step, but as pointed out already most participants aren't photoshop experts. they are still learning, constantly trying to improve themselves. and there is nothing wrong in following tutorials.


i hope this is the end of it. i will not tolerate anyone reiterating the points already discussed earlier.

@all - dont argue anymore, just be happy for shalu.. coz im happy for her winning Gold in WPC.. congratz m8.. no matter what the results are.. just accept it, coz u also voted.. just try and try until youll achieve what u want to achieve..
