Hello STC folks, we are moving along fast. It's Symbian Theme Contest 10 already. If you are new, please read & understand the updated rules & guidelines for the contest.

Topic: Quotation/Slogan
Step 1: Pick your favourite quotation (collection of famous quotations) OR come up with your own slogan (it can be anything like "I'm tired of working", "I love mobile9", get some inspiration from typetees, we are also in the process of designing mobile9 T-shirt so if you can think of a good slogan for mobile9, use it, we might print your slogan on those T-shirts if they are good.)
Step 2: Make a wallpaper based on that quotation/slogan (you can only use text effects, plenty of tutorials out there. No image is allowed.)
Step 3: Use your wallpaper to make a theme

The deadline for this contest is 1st June, 0300GMT.

We are still new, this contest is pretty much unknown to many so we need your help. If you know Symbian themers (S60, Series 40, UIQ) who might be interesting in joining us for some fun, please tell them & provide them with a link to this thread. Your little help can decide whether this contest can continue. Thanks!

It's really not that hard, look through some of the links I gave you in the 1st post. Tutorials are often very comprehensive, you just need to follow the steps. If you need help, I'm sure other STC folks will kindly offer a hand. Just ask.

hey people. here is an idea i've come up with. it's the "earth is but one country and mankind its citizens". not mine, but absolutely representative of what i think.



please let me know what u think for the digital numbers.
i'm also thinking of playing with zendell's icons to make them more suitable to the theme.

the theme is made by thabull, as all the themes i have uploaded.

Nice Thabull! Try to make the digital in black instead of white i think. About the Jendells icons you could make them a little darker. Maybe change one colour to make a shadow over them. Hope you know what i mean

First, let me apologise up front. I should have checked much earlier before you have made it so far. This topic requires that you make your own wallpaper and no images are to be used. So in this case, you have to change the wallpaper used in this theme. Try doing a green wallpaper so you can use the rest of the element of the theme?

Nop. This topic requires that you create your own wallpaper. So while the above wallpaper is very nice, it's not qualify.

I think this is much better than the dark version.

@ primavera77. u just have to use a full transparent icon (i think u have to use .svg file and not .jpg or .png, but check it out)

@nvdvs1. much better my friend. the letters in highlight though are not very visible. perhaps light gray or white?

@AW or anybody else. this is something i took from a tutorial link in the first post of this thread. if i follow the tutorial, i will create the exact same wallpaper by my self. i dont have the time and the knowledge to get busy with photoshop right know, so if u and anybody insist, i will not participate with a theme this time.

Humn, really sorry to hear that you won't be participating. I hate seeing people not participating because of the topic. But I have specified the topic right from the start, and it wouldn't be fair to those already starting to make their own wallpaper if I suddenly change it to allow the use of image. Sorry.
