Hi guys.

I have an annoying problem with themes on my N95-8GB. When I download some themes and install them to the phone the carousel (multimedia key) becomes disabled. This only happens with certain themes, for example most of Xaviers themes do this but there's one or two of his themes that are fine, like his Bright SVG theme, that works perfectly but his Dreamscene, Salvation, and Aerials themes all disable the multimedia key.
Does anyone have any ideas why this happens and how it could be fixed? Thanks.

The firmware is the latest that Vodafone will allow me to install (20.0.0.16)

G'day mate, where are the themes in our gallery? I will load them onto my N95 8gb to see whats up.

I don't think they are actually in the M9 gallery. I'm just looking around to see if someone else has had similar problems.
It's not just Xaviers themes that cause problems, other theme makers themes do the same. But what I can't fathom out is why only a handful of these themes cause this..

Maybe I'd be better asking on the Nokia forums, but if you get anything let me know?

Just installed, Dreamscene, salvation and aerials. Must say, clean work. They worked fine, I'm running v30.0.018. Here's one for you, the standard themes foul up my media key!!
Unless you find a result, i would say it's one of those things that may go unexplained.

OK thanks. I'm now thinking it's a firmware related issue. With my provider not willing to release any further updates for the 95-8GB, I'm either stuck with it unless I debrand the handset, which would, as they keep parroting on about it on their forum, "void the service providers warranty."

Debranding the handset shouldn't void the warranty on your handset. I put up a quick and easy guide to debranding and upgrading firmware easily:

Vodafone say their warranty would be void, but I think the Nokia warranty would still stand.

I don't think Vodafone's warranty is anymore better than Nokia's.

Nope, that's why I always take mine straight to the Nokia Service Centre if it needs any attention.

Just gotta decide whether or not to do the same with my N95-2.

Might support themes better if I did, not to mention it'll be a lot faster.
