Different countries have different generic names for a mobile phone.

In the US people call their mobile phone - cellphone. Here in Malaysia, you are likely to bump into someone who call it - handphone.
What about your country?

Ppl call it either Mobile/Cell/Phone here in India...depending on wat comes to the mind at that instant

The name you gave it in the title; mobile/mobile phone in the UK

. However, we get people writing color, saying tomato (in American) etc so i wouldn't be surprised if people also called it a cell, especially in cities

Well, typically here in the UK it's called a mobile phone or some people call it a pain in the @ss

but the moste is telephon portable .

in Greece we call it kinito (mobile).
when the wife calls we call it bourdelo...
when the girfriend calls we call it moro...
when work calls we call it gamimeno...
when the phone gets stuck or slow we call it many things.....

but bro, you are most likely heard someone call it 'handset' I think, although the right term in malay is 'telefon bimbit'.

that means "distant mobile voice set"

i remember talking to my cousing back in India and i told her i am calling from my cell and she said what ?? and i had to say mobile...which doesn't come to our minds here in US...
