In SE TC if you want to import the softkeys separately, you have to do it by importing the 2 smaller ones as one image, e.g. like this...

Took everyones suggestion and came up with the following mod... Created one length button and pasted a wheel in the centre, then rubbed out centre sections to expose the background colour...
Is this a good change??? any other suggestions would be appreciated, thankyou kindly everyone.

Hi Friends i just started making this theme....

hey guys, against all advice im thinking of sticking to my original image, can anyone gimme
any ideas on how to be more creative with the softkeys?? was thinking of adding an outer glow
to them kinda the same as around the butterflies?? any ideas

the theme is nice. try to use Sony ericsson theme creator. not Lasyk.
and is it me or are the softkeys un-balanced

@ Daisy : the best advice from everyone would be :

Experiment with them. use patterns , bewel , textures , colors , gradients , styles , filters ... and try to feel the beauty of the softkeys.

im sure this will result in much better softkeys.

I did ask prior to posting to see if this question would be ok...

The top 3 winners receive their trophies, therefore they receive their praise from all others etc but what i would like to see is future TMC topics be chosen by the member placed last, therefore whom ever comes last is never discouraged from their efforts but instead still plays a big part in the next topic thus they are still encouraged to particpate further as they improve their chances with climbing up the podium ladder...
Just an idea, i was wondering what others thought, because it takes nothing away from the top 3 placed but it simply encourages those still learning & improving their theme making skills.

..try to give my humble opinion...it's will great if u lower a lit bit the F font coz it's touching the Sony Ericsson,the reflection is good and so with the softkeys ...

im really having a hard time trying to make my softkeys and bars highlights etc.

Heres The Wallpaper Im Gonna Use. I Couldn't Come Up With better softkeys so i came up with these.

heres a quick tutorial about glass effect.

its from PSDTUTS
hope no one minds.

1 . select a gradient which goes from white to transparent



2 . now select the area which you want gradient overlayed.



3 . then select the elliptical marquee tool and select the desired area : use the image below for reference



4 . after that you will get something like this..



This Is Also Called The Gloss Effect... But Here Its Jelly Style..

@ - DJ Dan G'day mate, look the idea is good, but the main issue is checkes on any area that will have text on it is very hard to do, you could add a very thin layer on top of the softkeys with the checkered effect on it, OR you could instead involve the checkers on your standby image, for a different effect

But as i said the idea is great

If you were to use this effect in the nav bg and not the standby that would be easier, cause you could just apply a black flat color overlay to the checkers pattern, and yet still be able to read text, plus have your cool effect.

anyways it's up to you enjoy yourself, be creative and don't worry about the rest, it's all about fun

Good idea! But by voting for 5 out of 23 themes, there are usually some co-last placed themes which have zero vote. Then whose topic will be chosen?

i too agree with nemesis..i think who got minimum score,can also choose the topic ..

Thats just why i said to increase the number of votes..

yup..u are right..voting must b like WPC..

Maybe we should decide the number of votes by looking at the number of entries in the week..

For Example :

if there are less then 10 and more than 5 entries we should vote for (5) entries , and grant a free point to everyone else so they are not disappointed by a (0) - Just like RC and WPC

if there are less than 20 and more than 10 entries we should vote for (7) entries and a free point to everyone else

if there are less than 25 and more than 20 entries we should vote for (9) entries and a free point to everyone else..

These are just suggestions the admins and tmc manager will decide what to do...

IMO text color is perfect..theme is lokin really cool

...nice gault especially the softkeys btw can't suggest which text color suitable with u unless u show us the desktop or background image too...just my humble opinion




...hi hyu44 look nice and my humble advice is please search the previous TMC thread and study the preview of M9 senior themer(legendary,certified themer,gifted themer etc) look at their preview and study from all aspect and i'm very sure u'll understand how to make a better theme and i'm not said that ur theme are not good but we must learn more to be better....see ya

about the voting, i would go with Gault...something similar to the RC and WPC., where the number of votes depends on the number of participants.
