haha You know, I'd use light gray sooner, similar to your disabled items...

I personally don't like the combination of your bright white color at plain text and dark gray color at highlights... as for me, highlights' text color must be more expressive in this case, 'cause you're use dark background pic and dark highlight pics... but that's just for me!

hahaha ok, well you see one thing you need to knwo me , when i make themes, I design them to work in both dark lit areas, and light filled ones, daytime etc, this is one area many themers forget about, what may appear great on the computer screen, is another on the phone screen, ina bright summers day, so i choose my colors according to that hope that make sense ...

Hi everyone... this is what I have so far.... I'm still working on font colours and highlights.... any suggestions would be gr8ly welcomed... thankyou...
Please note that the blurry looking font is only a result of copying the preview onto my graphics program. Will figure out how not to make it blurry and reupload tomorrow.

I know the problem of reading text in mobile screen outdoor, in daylight. So, may be you make a version that appears great on computer screen and submit to TMC. Then you change text to white to make another version and upload to gallery. I used to do like this before.

that "transformers" in the status-bar looks too pixellated. did u enlarge it?
the blue color you have used is too dark. unreadable
there seems to be a 1 px white border around the highlights
i would suggest you to stick with one kind of highlight. either the silver border or the blue one (i like the silver one better)
in some of the screens the left softkey is missing

@ boxie...... I think that you need a new pair of glasses mate...... and learn 'How To Read'....... if you read my post properly, you would see that I stated about blurriness from transferring images from preview into my graphics software.... for a start, the 'Transformers' logo is NOT pixalated, it is just blurred as I said..... Once I have finished a bit more of the editing, I will upload it and prove that you do need glasses.........

As for your Ferrari.......... it aint all that good...... The background is too plain and boring and it looks like something that my 14yo step son would create........

hey boxie doesnt look half as bad as you think it does, the only problem i can see is too many text colours! its prob jus me but it confuses
me, but i am blonde....so easily confused!!! but other than that i think it looks awesome!

dont want the feedback, jus post straight into final entry. even if you think someone's theme is crap, dont jus come out and say it, make suggestions on how it can be improved........that thing about ur 14 yr old step son was jus unnecessary in my opinion

I doubt that I will submit anything this time. The idea I had sucked from the start and sucked more as I went with it. My minimalistic style for which I theme does not compete with whats expected here. Soft keys and animations are okay with SEs' but have no place in nokia 60's.

Thanks daisy, I appreciate you words. I like my style too, but looking at whats "in" and "not in" with these comps' my style is what was called bland or something rude like that earlier. There is a huge gap between sonys and nokias. Never the 2 shall meet. You can't build great animations on our handsets, which sadly seems to be an eye catcher ( they do look very good, I will say ) As for you themes, like I posted in the other topic, I see what you can do online. There is nothing wrong with your work at all. Fire up carbide 3.4 select s60 fp1 and run with it.



I have themed a few SE for the wife, there is a preview button at the top of the editor, wish carbides was as simple to preview.

uh huh, you may be able to theme sony's better, but nokia is by FAR the better phone! As i said NV dont pull out, whoever said your themes are bland needs to get their eyes tested! And NV if you dont think ur themes are good enough for these comps......then why should I bother at all! dont give up!

I loved theming nokia, until carbide came along, cause carbide made things more complicated for no reason at all , bloody vector graphics meh, sure you can use bmp, but why oh why they removed the magic pink for masking is beyond me

anyways man nuff rant, great entry, and don't care what others say, it's what you think that matters imo, I theme for me first, and others second ( unless is client lol ) but yea head up bro, keep going

I'm with you BBT, I love what you can do with Nokias. The quote came from week 219 I think. What people need to realize is that Sony and Nokia are completely different when it comes to themeing and they cannot be compared fairly.

@ NV............ I have been read the correspondence between daisy and yourself.... I have to admit with daisy, whoever said that your themes were 'BLAND', needs their head read......I just had a quick glance at your entry and love your design. Cheers DJ, that quote came from another member back in week 219 or 220, myself and at least one other themer took it as a direct hit to Nokia themes being uninteresting & bland. I certainly don't agree with it, P*&&^d me off to be honest. Hey, and keep up the good work man. In the end it all boils down to personal opinion on whats good or not. Sometimes though, people should just shut the f%$k up.

and too many text colors? where? i have used BLUE for normal text, and white for highlighted text. two colours are too many for you?
