@ Boxie : i just noted that your glossy effect is not as nice as i suspected. if you can give me the permission i'll try to create a glossy effect...
i think you only used Bevel And Emboss.

come back to the abstract thing! and cos its open topic, i figured id just go with it! when its a set theme, ill have plenty of opportunity
to try something other than abstract!

anywayz, it's not about what type of theme u make, it's about how well you do it. if you think u are best at abstract, then go with it but make something good!

@ Daisy : there are two votes for the second image. but still the goodness of the theme doesn't only depend on the image. half of the goodness depends on your creativity and mind...

play with all three images. theres plenty of time and i know you can get something good out of the three images..

you can also use more than one image in your theme.

if you can learn to use Carbide. you can easily do that...

after reading dr_megabyte's tips :

i used 3 images in my theme.

The idle screen has a different image
all the rest of the screens have a different image
and the media player has a different image.

i have a slight problem and hoping someone can advise, im making what I think are some awesome softkeys in psp, but for some
reason not saving as transparent, when i paste them to my image, they have a white back ground!!! anyone know why that would be???

i got stuck on the Ferrari theme...will try to think up some ideas while i am fresh tomorrow morning

in the meantime i continued work on my Mario theme as well. this ain't the final screens however....coz the title highlights dont look too hot at the moment
they too will be sorted out when i am fresh tomorrow

did you saved them as .png file?..?

When you save the image as png, you must choice interlaced in the png options when you save. I use Adobe PS

the first one gives the more place to better contrasting with the highlights, because the coloration is more unified...
The two others have too much differents colours trough the screen...

quality increasing ! Still, the black text troughout your elements,
I dont know... have you tried some other colours?

Allright, I had a few hours time and I come up with that:

@Gault - some suggestions from me, i dont know if you will take care about... but i make them nevertheless...

your Preview at Post #199

shows you had corrected the Navigation Screen softkeys, which were different.

Which is a good choice too, the softs from the Standby and Desktop are better looking.

I like what you had made on you Statusbar - the middle part - looks very good, and 3D.

- Desktop - mmm ... see you are theming for the "C" group, too...

Take care about the Title you added there... the text is "falling out" (the "g" letters)

- Media Player - See too that you had made an effort to make the Softkeys for the Portrait,
and for the Landscape separatelly... I had also that idea, but it is a wrong one unfortunatelly...
In Portrait, the text is going troughout the whole screen, FROM UP TO BOTTOM.

- I d like to say also something about the text colours... but mmm am not to much inspired...

Only for the Side buttons, The Left and Right button, imo that text should not be so bright, in
this case, or theme... give the impression to see nothing else than that text, and the button part
desappear... please try, 808080 - then the text is more "making part".

And something elso, too... your skills appears to be greater than your zeal. Why I am saying that?
Because why i have the impression you were too lazy to make your Input1 and Input2 Screens smaller
(or less high) but instead that you had just resizing them, and the grid is nomore hexagonal but
trapezoid...

i wanted to ask "cant we change softkey text colors in media player?"

i'll also remake the Pop-Up,input 1 and input 2 screens again.

i hope to complete all this before 25th february. cuz after that im going for some urgent work to an area without any computers or internet..

when I did manage to get rid of the bits between the gold colour, it was v messy, do you think its worth working on to use this softkey or stick with
