Ah, sorry for being complicated. I just meant that the theme has the nicer tabs.

Sam: Oh, an S60 2nd Edition theme with nice details. Did you do it with Theme Studio 1.2? Brings back many good old memories. You could colour the blue scroll arrows to match the rest of the theme better (e.g. light yellow or white).

I'm not sure but i think that has to do with the size of the preview? i have tried it on daughters k850 and there is no blurriness..

It has been exactly a year since last Valentine's (TMC week 203) when I last themed. Now I come back.
To diversify themes for different mobile platforms, I contribute a Symbian UIQ3 theme, which brough me the first and only GOLD CUP until now.

I know very well how hard is it to arrange all the colors in a UIQ3 theme but I suggest to take a look at the text color on messeges screen (I didnt try the theme naturally but I am almost sure that it will be very hard to read the white text). Secondly the colors of the calendar can be arranged much more better.
Even w/o any modification the theme is very nice.

@boxie, animation is very nice. You should use that as the wall imo. But you have to work on your sofkeys and highs more. (including tabs) They still need some extra effort. Dont forget about pops as Jasna stated.

im not as much experienced in SE themes as these guys : BBT , Jasna , Vswindtalker and others actually im not very good at any kind of theming. but still i'll give you some advice. why dont you try some Techy. (means Technical) soft keys on your theme) because your main screen color is blue. and technical objects will look good on blue color

Hi my friend. a suggestion from me: your high colors and the text color is the same. Since your highs are not contrasting with the background why you are not changing the text color, to be more visible to read.

@ Boxie careful my friend, you are getting close to falling into a trap of never ending confusion, your up to v4 of your single entry, and soon if you don't settle you could lose sight of what it is you wanted to do, and imo ignore the suggestion for using detailed ( tech ) soft keys in your theme, it will look to busy and crowded. This is because your standy image is very detailed already, lots going on in it's desgin, if you add more detail to this instead of using clean lines, it will be very hard for the end user to really enjoy it. Stick with the softkey ideas you've been using, and all will be fine, just try not to have same colors to close to one another eg: if you use white text for main content, then give your theme some black, or dark blue softkey graphics, and then use white text on them, and then to balance this make your main highlighted graphics with a white colored bg, and use a black or dark blue text color against this, this will ensure your theme remains balanced in it's color composition.

have fun man, just try not to get to bogged down, or you will never get it finished lol, whenever a themer loses his or her motivation, best thing is to either walk away and clear your head, and return to it fresh, OR simply look at your images to be used in the background, let them speak to you and inspire you on how to complete the theme.

I think you must be careful with animations. A theme without animation is much better than a theme with a bad amination
Good animation takes much time and much effort usually and it is often decrease the quality of main screen. That's why I often doing themes without any animations...

very true, in the case of using GIF, as it has such a shocking image compression, but if someone makes the animation as a SWF file ( flash ) than it would look fine imo

@gault:-The shine becomes ball at the end the reason is ,The animation consists of 65 photos which i make individually in photo 58to65 i increase the blur and its area ,one photo per pixel

It's been some time since I used series 40 3rd edition studio, but I think this may be due to the image compression your using, I seem to remember images needing to be PNG and not JPEG or BMP but i could easily be wrong, it has been some time

also another thing is to make sure your themes files are stored in the correct location or the studio won't be able to find it etc

And now here is a little tool i just came across for all you nokia themers

here is the description of the application - " Some words about this tool : PNG2BMP2 is a application which can convert transparent PNG file in to two separate BMP files - one as the image itself and the second one as transparency mask. It can be used for example for Symbian (e.g. UIQ3) development or any other purpose.."

Thanks mamaflump...I`m glad you like it...If you mean black text in CONTACTS PREVIEW it has selection bar like in MESSAGES PREVIEW but in some reason it`s not shown in CONTACTS PREVIEW. (Well, it`s CARBIDE... )
