Yup, also you will have to upload to the gallery if you want to have a trophy / certificate of participation in your profile and have your entry theme featured in the community main page.

we've seen some great themes but still many themes are missing.

I also noticed this. I have bought it to the attention of AW, Jas and the other admins.

I think it might be made with an online theme creator that supplies leached components? Which may mean a revision of the TMC rules.

I've been playing round with sonys theme studio for the wifes fone and noticed that I can download a theme, open it with the studio and change what ever I like. Not very security concious at all.

@NVDVS1 - SE's theme creator has always been like that, unlike Nokia's TC which requires the original TDF file. SE's TC also used to have an original author tag which was permanent so you could so who the original author of a theme was, not sure if that feature is still implemented.

On the issue of TMC entries, I think we should clarify that the theme entered has to be 100% original created by you, standby images can be used from other sources, but bars etc should be ur own work you created and not used form 3rd party sources, wherever they may come from.

so, Ill either have to pull out.....or......use the M9 s60 tc, and submit a very basic theme!

carbide ( but my transparents, dont appear transparent)

Hi NVDVS1, I can install it, but then it freezes my phone, I used the Own--skin tc.

When I first uploaded it said it wasnt compatible with my phone!

you must have made a theme for a different phone. when i made a theme on own skin it worked fine

well it asked me to select my phone model which is N95, before I started! so i thought it'd be ok!!

I have made numerous themes in that ---skin site and they all say they aren't compatable, but still work. Are you using the simple or advanced creator? I must admit I haven't used that place in ages, it runs like a sack of crap. Anyway back to the prob' What fone you got? when I installed themes on my card in my N73 they were always sluggish to respond. Try the other creator, simple or advanced to see what happens. Try selecting a different server ( can you still do that? ) and create a theme with justa backgroud in the advanced creator, if it works, go back and edit it. Good luck.

try again. its been a long time since i made any themes on own skin.

I have N95 I tried both and still the same thing! works ok for a bit..then freezes! and yeah I love the concept they have going there, but the amount of times

hey Dragon, Beautiful theme, really like it! good job!

daisy, give it a go, you can get great results from our creator. start keeping a stash if grid highlights etc, you make along the way. Start your own library so you add your own personal touches as well as the preloaded items.

I think I will, and I have a whole load of highlights and stuff from my other themes, Ive saved them all in little files on my computer! lol!
I thought that was sad! obviously not!


Id like to say I wont ask for help again.....but it would prob be a lie!!!

No probs' if adonis is listening, is our creator .svg compatable? if so inkscape is a great tool for icons, highlights. Free too. The quality of using this just for highlist and bars with shading is amazing.

Hasn`t that always been part of the rules?

Edit: 100% may not be working, as a lot of people use textures and patterns from "3rd party sources".
My suggestion would be that all used sources need to be given with the entry. Just a simple link to the original image and textures used in the theme.

Hello all, some very nice themes in this special TMC, It's great to see many friendly faces, anyways here is what i have so far, sorry if it's not pixel perfect but I don't own a Sony phone anymore I have iphone now

I will hopefully submit my final later today

@nvdvs1 Not sure if SVG is supported, have a hunch it is likely the usual formats, jpeg, gif, png @expert_21 should know more about this.

I think the rules were relaxed slightly, agree with your points there. I think standby images found on the internet are allowed using services via google etc, but bars and highlights should be created by the member.

Cute_heart's entry is now withdrawn until further notice. Reason: the use of components from another theme. Admin will discuss this issue with him privately.

There are a few things we need to clarify.
- the use of online theme creator is allowed in this week's competition because I personally granted the permission to some nokia themers who asked (Carbide is a powerful tool but it's not very user friendly). At that time, the fact that certain online theme creators come with pre-made graphics completely escape me. This permission will be reconsidered and we will let you know the final answer in the next TMC. Our opinion is that themers must make their own clocks, softkeys, highlights etc, not simply select / extract from another person's work.

Please be reminded that TMC is a platform where themers around the world create a theme, collect & post comments, make friends, have fun, and improve their theming skills. It's not all about winning, and the use of components from another theme is strictly prohibited. I'm sure you would agree that it's fairly difficult to escape the eyes of so many talented & skillful themers here ...

I almost agree... The thing is, that i've got lots of textures and stuff saved in Photoshop. Also I saved lots of pics on my PC, that I downloaded over time. I couldn't tell anymore where I got them from...
But of course a contest doesn't make much sense, if most of the theme's not made by the competitor!! Actually I thought that should be clear without telling it...
