Hi Team,
I wanted to start uploading S60 theme items that other members might want to use for their theme making, i.e analogue clocks, digital numbers, softkeys, navi-bars, caller displays, icons etc etc but everytime i try too, i seemed to be get timed out & the page resets while im in the process - any guidance would be appreciated,
Also when i upload the items direct frm my PC & i press "preview" all i see is a link but i also want to show the item so other members will see what they are downloading - again any guidance would be appreciated.
( if there is correct upload instructions post then yep i missed it )

What format are the icons in? Are they just images? Upload the images to a site such as www.imageshack.us and post the links here in the form:

CODE
[img]http://www.linktoimage.com/image.jpg[/img]

Once you reply to this, I will move the post to the themeing chat section.

The theme items are all in "png" format, i just thought i could attach items to my post via the "Add This Attachment" tab & it would display image as well as a download link

Well the add attachment does show previews. However, they are small previews. The problem is the add attachment on mobile9 is broken. If you try downloading a file attached you will get lots of characters where it is displaying the binary code in ascii. For example try downloading:

[attachmentid=15832]

It will only work if it is small enough to fit in the preview like:

[attachmentid=15831]

I suggest creating an account on www.imageshack.us and then uploading the png files there. You can then post the links as I showed above. It will then look like:

Code used above: (hot linking 1)

I might have misunderstood your post but where you said "Try downloading the attachment here" - i right clicked & saved as & I succesfully downloaded the item ( so did you host the image or did you use the "add this attachment" tab ?
It would be so much easier if members could just attach direct from their PC rather than hosting because eventually over time, some items will get removed from host sites & that will just effect the posts in the forum thus effecting the whole idea of a theme resources thread which i think is a good idea !

When you upload to mobile9 you cannot view the image at its original size. Try it for yourself. Well for me when i click to enlarge i get lots of characters representing the binary code. However, you can right click and chose save link as to get around this if you know the filetype.

If you create an account on image shack the images will be hosted for longer than without an account. Be careful though. I'm not 100% sure how long files uploaded to mobile9 forums are hosted for. I'm sure I have lost some in the past. Maybe it was when mobile9's servers were smaller?

It looks like image shack have got a bit funny about hotlinking. So it's up to you how you wish to do it. There are two options smile.gif.

OK, what i need then is replies from others to tell me if they can download this "Mobile9 clock" which is in "png" format before i start uploading theming items that some members may find usefull with their theme making. When i left click it, it enlarges & then i right click & "save picture as" so i was surprised to read you see binary code instead.

[attachmentid=15836]

feedback from others would be appreciated on what they see when they left click to enlarge then right click & save picture as = hopefully it will download as "png" not "jpg"

Attachments are corrupted, MIME types are messed up with the Servers, you should use a 3rd party image host: Imageshack.us, tinypic.com or flickr etc..
Nemesis101
Cool, i will upload into host site then upload here soon.
TY !

You see a picture when you left click it blink.gif. What browser are you using? In firefox this is what I get:

[attachmentid=15838]

Of course if I right click there is no save picture option.
Nemesis101
Im using IE7, i did get different replies from friends when i asked them to test for me, one said they were using IE7 as well & downloaded test clock perfectly by left clicking image to enlarge then right clicking & save as, but when they tried on aol, it downloaded as a "jpg" so clearly its different for certain browsers, shame really, it would have been easier direct from PC, so ill have to sort out a load of stuff & put them into my host site as you & adonisdemon suggested.
TY for feedback.
