Let's say I want to use as background the same imaged I used as Idle Screen...
My question is, what are the most used effects thememakers use on paintshop, like transparencies, etc.
I'm just asking cause I'm not that good in photoshop even on basics effects.

Thanks in advance
Penaf

cannot be changed in the theme studio... colors can be modified once installed in the phone by changing the configuration of the coluor palette (go to themes, theme file name, edit, colour palette, palette of your choice)...

***Here's how you can make a transparent background in Photoshop:

1. Select the Rectangular marquee tool, (Press M for shortcut)
2. Select which part of the layer you want to apply the transparency by dragging the cursor at the image.
3. Then at the Menu, select IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS > VARIATIONS > LIGHTER
4. You can lighten the image as much as you want.

***Changing Colors.

Again at MENU, IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS > HUE/SATURATION
Adjust the HUE

This is an easy way to change colors, specially the icons

***Other important tools can be found at EDIT > TRANSFORMATION
Here you can SCALE, ROTATE and FLIP your images

***Play with you image using FILTER effects.

***Use the Smudge Tool its very helpful, the one that copies the color of the cusors immidiate background.

Hope this helps. happy.gif

to make any layer transparent... look at your photoshop window where all the layers are listed, found on the right lower part of the screen by default, above the said layers' list you'll find someting pertaining to opacity and below it is something about fill... make sure the layer you want transparent is selected (paintbrush icon on the side) and that it is the layer being displayed (eye icon on the side... you'll only see the layer if it is the topmost in the list with the eye icon)... then play with how much opacity or fill you want... anywhere from 0-100%

hope this helps

Imagine a theme componnent, anyone... clicking on edit the image opens in photoshop ... and then what do I do? I usually edit theme save the bmp in the disk and then with the browser put them on the correct place ... is there a faster way to do this?
Rastajay
if i understand you correctly... you are saving your edited components through photoshop then, open w/ browser....what correct place are u talking about? Correcr place at Theme Studio or Skinsdir/ folder?

anyway, what i usually do is double click the component part, edit at photoshop, copy my edited image from photoshop (no need to save), paste it at Theme Studio then, Save.
hus
click edit in theme studio

make your changes

merge down (Ctrl + e) any new layers you have created, so theres only one layer again.

click file - save (there wont be any options to choose)

jump back to theme studio

your new image is there in preview ready for you to click save and add it to the theme.

hope that helps
