SE W910 Themers, here they are some of small tips to help

when theming, and WIEWING IN A RIGHT WAY THE THEME CREATORs PREVIEW:

The SE Theme Creator has some of bugs and shows the Preview not right,

AS IT SHOULD BE to look as it looks on the mobile phone.

Here I will present a Preview of my latest Theme,

and FIVE TIPS to make your themes to look on the phone in a right way.

TIPS:

ROW TITLE_PICTURES - SCREEN:
The left side of the Row Title TEXT BEGINS ON SOME FIRSTS PIXELS!
The first three one I think...

MORELIST_REPLY - SCREEN:
The MoreList Screen appears on the Phone ON THE LEFT SIDE - NOT RIGHT!

CALENDAR_WEEK WIEV - SCREEN:
The Calendar on the Phone appears WITH THE ROW TITLE!

So the left side of this one should be "clean" as much as possible,
as the numbers could be seen.

INPUT1_T9 - SCREEN:
The Input1 - Screen is different as the SE Creator shows.

The small letters are not anymore here where the SE Creator shows, but
the phone "pull down" a white space on the Status Bar!

So if you want you do not have anymore to make the "window space" for it...

INPUT2_SPELL WORD - SCREEN:
The Spell word - screen appears as the Input2 -

The SE Creator shows the "Time Setting Screen"
The Spell word is the same (sorry for the Icon - couldnt find it - it is a small chalkboard)
The phone "pulls down" here too, as in the Input1, the white square...
On the whole right side it shows too the time.

And under it shortly shows in a black square the writing language.

Not right you wanted to say, did you?

Except for that:
Excellent work!!! Someone please pin this!!

Btw, the last two mistakes look like some software bugs to me.
I havent got my phone yet to test if this happens on all phones.
Anyone else to second that bug?

but I think that time I was new in here and nobody was paying attention

Because I want to buy this phone I find out that the 1st phones and only the black, having problems with the software. For all those owners the SE is replacing the phone with new one at least this is happening here in Greece
so it might be a software bug tho

This was when the phone 1st arrived in the stores, so I don't think that there is going to be any problem with yours

This happens I think on all 240x320 screen phones, at least I know for k800, w850, w580.


Did you try what happened when you don't put popup tilte or when it's transparent? On K800 when you write SMS and want to add symbol, place where title should be is black.

Right - the same thing happens here too.

But it is not a kind of a bug... - it is a deficiency of an element.

I wanted here to mention things which happens wrong by appearing differently
when the elements are placed in the SEC.

But an another Adwise, dear Fellows Themers, from your old Master Yoda...

A certain "danger" prey on the Desktop !

As you can see upper, my Theme Preview show a theme WITH a TITLE SMALL

ON THE DESKTOP ...

I will explain...

*** The Desktop Screen - "calls" the Title Small over itself.

In the themes WITH THE *SAME* DESKTOP and the NAVIGATION SCREEN,

it is not such a big deal...

*** I removed the Title Small from the Desktop and there s no kinda "danger"

- Pratically nothing is happened...

The ThemeMaker JUST SHOWS : - THERE S NO THE TITLESMALL ON A DESKTOP!

But on the phone IT WILL LOOKS LIKE THIS:



JUST AS YOU HAD A TITLE SMALL STILL THERE

I named it that : The Desktop "call" the Title Small...

So WHERE IS THE DANGER ?

Lokk what happened when

YOU HAVE DIFFERENTS *DESKTOP* and the *NAVIGATION SCREEN* or *BACKGROUND*

I will show it to you on my recent Theme Walkman Nicled Green:

Different Desktop, and different Navigation Screen.

Everything looks just fine ON THE PC, AND IN THE THEME MAKER...

But on the phone it will look LIKE THIS !

The only healing and remede you can do, is to input the Title Small

on the Desktop... and everithing will be in order.

And your theme will look IN THE SE TMaker AND ON THE PHONE - LIKE THIS:

Wow have to save or copy this Tips in Case I Start to Theme or Even by This Phone one Day

phew! A lot of stuff to look for. I better edit myself a good template for W910 themes where all the "bugs" are fixed or at least marked.

I will show you an another thing... and a small helpfull "trick".

...mmm...The SE_TM shows a wrong Preview for several phones in fact FOR THIS SCREEN...

And could be caracthersed as a BUG...

Still, there is a small "trick" TO VERIFY and WIEV

THE REAL PREVIEW of the VOLUME INPUT

(in fact this is the simple Input2, or also called "Small Input"

Open an another new SE Theme Maker,

AND CHANGE THE PHONE TO - W900i

Open your Theme, and

You will see the RIGHT VIEW OF THIS SCREEN...

Well...

An another TIP

As Atalantos remarked the text on the Softkeys

* BEGINS and ENDS *

AT THE VERY FIRST and LASTS pixels !

So should be carefull on these areas ...

Sometimes the buttons are very nices when designing and looks

indeed great - BUT COULD OBSTRUCT THE TEXT...

about the Middle Softkey...

- For these who could have some desires to make smaller Middle Buttons

for ANY REASON THEY WANT...

I happens that the longest word should be "Select", I think...

And the "Continue" which shows the SE TMaker, is again one of the mistakes...

*On the phone it didnt appear the whole word !

- but only as "Cont."

Looks like this...

But be carefull anyway to not make them to short too...

As I had said it happens I think that the longest word is "Select"




So take it in consideration so it coul fit in ...

I found the "S" text begining at pixel - 96

and ending "t" with the little shadow at pixel - 151

So I suggest that your Middle Button

begins at least at about pixel - 88

end at least at about pixel - 158.

But it is only my personnall observation.

The next words appearing in the Middle Buton are:

- Menu

- Open

- Set

- Insert

The longest word in german language that appears on the phone is "Aktivier" when activating a new theme.

And it runs over most divided keys. So I guess I wont be dividing my softkeys for the future.

And another bug I spotted:

Normally you should expect the Desktop to appear on the phone like this:


But instead it looks like this:


Means, the phone calls the small title first but then overlays the desktop image.


Workaround:
Save the desktop image WITH a small title, never without.

Ive seen this mistake on Tyronnes "billabong", on ghassemoos "ecto" as well as my "melk".

yeah i noticed that bug too. but too late i already uploaded the themes with error like that. but i already edit those themes of mine for my personal use.

So I think this is the Optimal "dimensionning" of the Sofkey Buttons, in my opinion...

The words "Camera off", off course DO NOT FIT IN !

For it, you should enlarge still more the Middle Button to

first pixel "my brown lines" at pixel 69 and to the left , pixel 170, imo...

there are a lot of bugs in the w910 theme maker
So I have to wait to buy it and then start theming again for this model

I think I will go if I made a theme for this phone..

The one I made for w960 already gave me a headache..

Of course I won't make a theme if I won't be able to test it for quality or visibility..

I've just got my new phone
and it's under testing
so far I have to confirm as zjurina said about the morelist position, the text position in row title, the row title appears also at the calendar and the input T9 screen.
As for the longest word at the middle button so far is the "Continue" (not as Cont.) as it is in TC preview, but I have the VF live (which I will erase and upload the standard SE firmware)



when I'll upload the standard SE firmware I'll test it again

I found another bug

I found out that the frame at "Popup Input 1" doesn't take the colouring from the "Frame"



but from the "Frame" of "Popup"



so if you want to have the result as the 1st picture at your phone, then you have to set the "Frame" of the "Popup" as the 2nd picture
