Used to plug in my Sony K800 to XP pc all the time and used phone setting rather than file manager. Copied lots to and fro no bother.

Having real problems with my new pc which is Vista. I get this message about 'capi worker module' and whatever that is, it's 'stopped working' and Windows Vista will look for a solution!

I un-installed it, cleaned out the left over application settings, ran CCleaner, re-booted and re-installed but the message came back.

I'm sure I downloaded the newest version of the Sony program suite for my phone & for Vista. I'd ask Sony but the reply wouldn't come back before I'd upgraded to the next windows operating system - they are awful for customer service!

EDIT: forgot to add, got Sony showing up under others in device manager eventually, but it says it has no driver! Clicked to find automatically, it goes away and looks, says it's done it, but when you look again it still says no driver and has a '?' rather than a '!' against it

Anybody any thoughts?

Is it compatible with Vista?

The Sony website says yes... but who knows

I think SE software or driver is uncompataible with Vista. If you want to use your phone with Vista you should try alternative ways.

This may work as bluetooth device has another software and driver within it.

So, here's the answer - tested and working for me - so yes it is OK with Vista -

To resolve the Capi Worker Module error please try the following:

Please try installing a virtual COM port on your system which may also resolve the issue.

1. Go to "Control Panel" => "Add Hardware"
2. Select "Yes, I have already connected the hardware"
3. Click "Next"
4. Select "Add New Hardware Device" (at the bottom of the list)
5. Click "Next"
6. Select "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)"
7. Click "Next"
8. Select "Ports (COM & LPT)
9. Click "Next"
10. Select "(Standard port types)" - In left side
11. Select "Communications Port" - In right side
12. Click "Next"
13. Click "Next"
14. Click "Finish"

What software have you installed with it?

Both the update program for the phone and the PC suite have problems on my new Vista PC (although the Cappi issue is resolved) with neither of them running properly.
Sony have emailed a couple of things to try but nothing's worked so far.

My K850 and PC Suit 3.102.00 works fine with vista. Installed from disk that came with k850.

Hm. Thanks for that, newest one on line is 2.10.46! I wonder if I said my phone was an 850 if it would let me download a newer version and if it would work?
