Can anyone confirm whether it's possible to install java apps and games to the w910i as i have been unable to do so.

This is how i'm trying to do it-

1- download jar file

2-transfer jar file into the others folder on phone memory card via usb

3-dissconect usb from phone

4-locate jar file on phone in the others folder

4- click install

5-phone says "continue?"

6-select yes

7-phone says "operation failed"

I get the operation failed message every time i try to install any jar file on this phone but it must be possible so i would be gratefull for any help with this. Thanks.

The procecure that u follow is correct.
So, are u sure that u are installing suitable applications for w910?
Did u get your software form this site?
Try to install software from here and let us know.

one of the person in here told me to update the software .i did it and only look n feel n speed changed but....the main problem remains the same.....

iam feeling pathetic guyz wat to do?????

thanks for the early reply but it did....first i did a master reset....then i updated the software......

as i told u the software was updated but u know.....still

i)the games folder does not open and it says operation failed

ii)the application folder does not open and it says operation failed

iii)when ever i try to install any java software it tries to install and says operation failed...no installations

iv)i check the memory status of games n applications folder...both are 0 kb with 0 files

this is seriously bugging me...i contacted the SE service place n they said software has to be updated which i already did....[SIZE=7]

i have the same problem with my phone it wont open my applications or games. before i installed the updates the walkman wounldnt work but it does now but my application and games are not, it says "operation failed". i have all so done a master reset on it still nothing.what should i do?

Ok for anyone with a w910 trying to install games or apps on this phone it will not work if you try and install them via the software provided by transfering them to the others folder as is done on previous se models. You will just get operation failed every time.

If you contact se customer support they will just tell you to update your software which will make no difference at all as i have tried this numerous times with no success.

I have had my phone replaced three times and each one does the same thing (operation failed) every time i try to install anything.

After much research i have discovered that this is deliberate by se to stop people sharing jars as they want you to pay for them.

However if you download them directly to your phone via wap they will install with no problem provided they are compatable with the phone. This is the only way it can be done and i have sucessfully installed many games and apps using this method. It's not the best way to do it but it does work and is the only way i have found to get jars onto this phone without the operation failed problem.

If anyone knows of another way to get jars to work on this model without using wap i'd be greatfull to hear it.

i have the same problem to with my w910i, its even worst, it became not responding, and the games files became 2 files each. even sometimes it won't start. i've tried to delete the games it said "operation failed". but i got few games which installed perfectly. i installed the games files using SE software, only by moving the files with clicking arrow button to the phone directory(not memory card or the phone folder) and it will install by it selves into the memory card.

Hey. I do not mean to revive the dead, but i found this thread via google, so to anyone else who might find this thread, i believe the solution is that you can just copy the jar file to the root of your phone (i.e. where memory card and phone memory folders are) from within your Sony Ericsson PC Suite and the phone will install the game/app. It works for me. I believe my nokia n95 8gb worked the same way.
