use http://www.tinypic.com/ to upload your sig you will need to cut it in to parts for each link for your url eg homesite and thank you codes upload to http://tinyurl.com and then enter in your Edit Signature like so
when done it should look like this

i use 320*240 image resolution to make landscape image....then i change the theme into 240*320 resolution mode and select 'keep aspect ratio' option..
theme wont get stretched...it looks good in both screen modes....
ill show the difference in my nxt theme

IN THE ABOVE THEME IN LANDSCAPE MODE U CAN SEE A TREE IN SCREENSHOT..........
THAT TREE IS MISSING IN 240*320 SCREEN MODE..
I DID IT LIKE THAT TO PREVENT THE IMAGE FROM GETTING STRETCHED.....THAT PREVENTS THE IMAGE FROM GETTING PIXELATED

so there is no way to get the same bg on both orientations, but this trick might be helpful sometimes.
couple of notes of ur last work:
I didn't test it on my phone,but from the pics I think that the softkeys need a solid background to make them more visible as well as the status area since colors seem to overlap
try to fadeout those two sections and lets c what happens
nice work all over especially the icons & keep it up

to make softkeys visible i made it blue over green background.it looks fine on phone
basically i dont like solid softkeys....
