Swedish Symsoft has confirmed that it has landed a new contract to supply its Nobill MMSC for Iceland's Og Vodafone.

Using the new system, subscribers to Og Vodafone will be able to send and receive MMS messages, making use of pictures and music. Hlynur Tomasson, product manager of value-added services at Og Vodafone, said the deal was the result of a relatively clear opportunity, according to Cellular News.

"Symsoft's Nobill MMSC was chosen because of its high functionality and the company's proven track record, in terms of existing MMSC references," he explained. The Nobill MMSC is fully-IP based and is compatible with 3GPP and WAP Forum standards. The system is also designed to easily interoperate with third-party technologies and systems over open interfaces.
