This is not only my first S60 theme, it is in fact my very first theme ever. Due to the minimal and different style from usual, it definitely took me some time to make. Quite a bit of hard work went into this theme. I had to learn how to use Illustrator (and Carbide.ui of course) and as a result of that, every single element of the theme exists only out of vectors now. No bitmap images were used! Which is good for your phone's performance.

It should run fine on any S60v3 handset, as long as the screen resolution is 240x320. If your phone uses a different screen resolution everything will be blown out of proportion.

I personally own a Nokia N95. Whilst all the default icons from Carbide.ui had been themed, the N95 had plenty of default icons that were left undone. These were added manually as 'third party icons' using their SecureID codes. The only menu icon that doesn't seem to work is the RealPlayer icon Some additional third party icons have been added as well.

I can imagine that not everyone will like this theme. Especially since it's quite light (mind you, it looks less bright on the phone). However, I plan on creating a possible second theme, which will hopefully appeal to more people. Here's a simple and basic mock-up of it, made in Photoshop, which should give you a fair idea of the style:




Feedback would definitely be appreciated on that as well

Love the theme, it's awesome, but the only thing I personally don't like is the icons. They all look very similar and hard to tell the difference between them.

You do have to get used to the icons. I personally haven't really had a problem with this. In fact, when I switch to the default Nokia theme I tend to get confused as well now

The icons do look awesome themselves, perhaps using the same design and colours make a set more similar to those originals.

The second theme is looking pretty awesome too.

Actually, getting used to Illustrator wasn't all that difficult. I've always liked working with shapes, creating logos and such. It took me a few days to learn the basics. It definitely suits me far better than Photoshop

Carbide, however, can be one annoying application to use It took me a while to figure out how to do the Input Highlight as a vector for instance. It kept tiling the image I made for it instead of actually treating it as a vector.

It really does take a bit of getting used to but in my case it didn't. The default icons confuse me.

Not an uncommon thing people say about Carbide, as powerful as it is, using it isn't going to be easy. But people mentioned that the Carbide is actually a better tool than the previous Nokia Theme Creator. I don't know much about it to be honest, never try any of them ever since the day it crashes my PC.

I heard all of that too. Kjherstin has had quite a few problems running Carbide as well. Actually, even I've had my share of them... :'(

No idea, not soon... that's for sure. I've been having some problems with my PC and haven't even started it yet.

My N95 is in for repair as well at the moment so I can't even use my own theme...
