*UPDATE*

Hi I've finished my own Hid for VLC media player so enjoy.

Currently some of the buttons don't seem to work, but that appears to be a problem with the VLC client (0.7.2) because, some of the hotkeys (default) don't work on the keyboard in windows either. But if they fix this then this remote should work fine as it is configured to the default configuration of the hotkeys.

here is the pic I made for it

user posted image

currently these buttons are not functional:

1 = Slow Motion
3 = Faster
4 = Previous Playlist Item
6 = Next Playlist Item
7 = Fullscreen
* = Mute
+/- =Volume Up/Volume Down

The ones that do work are:

2 = Play/Pause
5 = Stop
8 = Quick Open File
9 = Open Playlist
0 = Esacpe Program
# = Show Time elapsed vs Total Movie Length

They all might work with earlier versions of VLC since I have the newest where hotekeys are customisable. But I hope this issue is resolved soon so my remote might work properly. wow.gif

And below you can find the HID-file.
Mahk3
guys you who download I would like some feedback on how it works for you?

Here is a remote control file for DivX player.
Should work with all versions.

This has been made and tested on SE k700i

user posted image

Download file below.

Enables:

1 - Rewind
2 - Play/Pause
3 - Fast forward
4 - Fullscreen toggle
5 - Stop
6 - Open file
0 - Escape program, eg. this is actually alt+F4 so it closes the selected application
You can use this button to turn off your computer as well in XP eg. you get the
shutdown/reboot selection box.

As well as the ordinary mouse control using the default buttons.

nice work mahk3 clapping.gif clapping.gif
Mahk3
Why thank you cheers.gif

To bad DivX contains only so much of these hotkeys.
I was hoping to get volume keys and mute to function but the program has no hotkeys (eg. alt+enter etc.) for them as of this moment but maybe in future releases. And I did try to find some other UsageID tags for volume but none worked, ah to bad.
robban984
can somone du a hid to intervideo windvd4 that shuld be great.
hope u can request here if not im sorry
Mahk3
Robban984 see if you can get me the hotkeys for that program.
eg. alt+F4 for fullscreen and other hotkeys.

*UPDATE: REQUEST HAS BEEN FILLED, LOOK BELOW*
Mahk3
Ok here it comes on remote control file for InterVideo WinDVD, should work with all versions. Tested it on WinDVD 5 with full success.

Here's button description:

1 = Rewind, x2, x4, x8, x20, x60
2 = Play/LanguageMate (don't know what LanguageMate does but it toggles between play and that)
3 = Fast Forward, x2, x4, x8, x20, x60
4 = Previous Scene
5 = Play/Pause
6 = Next Scene
7 = Fullscreen Toggle
8 = Stop
9 = Return to Menu (On the DVD that is, scene selection and the works)
* = Eject Disc
0 = Exit Program
# = Mute Toggle
Cambutton = Take screenshot with the nifty funtion in WinDVD.
+/- = look below

Currently volume up and volume down don't work as there seems to be no hotkeys for those funtions, if you know them or can find out what they are then post here and I'll be sure to fix it.

if any can make or has hid files for Realmagic Hollywood Plus, it they can post it here, it would be greatly appreciated....

thx in advance
Mahk3
If you can post the hotkeys for the commands you want present on the remote, eg. if it's "enter" for play or alt+f4 for fullscreen etc.

these buttons are available for commands on the phone:

0-9, *, #, cambutton, volumekeys +/-.

The other ones can be changed but I suggest they stay for mousecontrol.

I read that if you press F1 in Realmagic Hollywood Plus you get a list of the hotkeys, then just post the ones you want as commands, eg. play etc.
you can have a maximum of 14 commands.

Is there any chance you could use your phone as a programmable remote for your TV? It has IR after all...

truly an awesome service mahk3!!! im using 2 of em' already
Mahk3
Thank you and thank you for pinning it, I think it's good to have it up there for all to see and access. And submit their own Hid-files.

And remember folks don't be shy to request hid-files here for your favorite programs, just be sure there are hotkeys for the commands you want on your remote, eg. alt+F4 for fullscreen etc. I think it would be best to PM me first about requests, and if I can't make it for lack of time or other reasons then post request here so all can see. We don't wan't get this thread to get overdumped with requests do we?

Is there any chance any of you mods or admins can add a list/index to my first post like the one in the java games thread that says what page each hid-file is present?

it's only 2 pages, once there are too many pages to browse through a list maybe necessary wink.gif

great work thumbsup.gif
Mahk3
ok yeah I just wanted to know if it was possible since I started the thread, I know you started the java games thread so of course you could do a list there, but I wasn't sure if one could be done her. Yeah it will have to grove a few pages before a list is required but I'm sure it will with all programs there are out there . laugh.gif

Just wondered if anyone has made a HID-remote for iTunes (winXP)? I can provide hotkeys if there isn't, and someone is willing to make one.

Also, is there any difference in the pc bluetooth adapters out there, in terms of compatability? IE. will I be able to use my k700i as a remote for the PC with any old bluetooth -> USB card?

Cheers.

but it seems the following keys work, but only in Fullscreen mode:

4 = Previous Playlist Item
6 = Next Playlist Item
* = Mute
+/- =Volume Up/Volume Down

the only one that remaines not functional is Fullscreen toggle.

Cool thx for adding, personally I don't see any use for a remote for IE tongue.gif, it's not like you sit idle by your computer and just click back, forward etc when you surf. That would have been cool if you could have modded the remotefile to include all buttons on one of those attachable keyboards for the mobile phone, then you could type and surf.

But cool non the less. notworthy.gif

This is the image used by the internet explorer remot in the post before.

Hello guys, I big thanx for all those nice HIDs. I have the following problem:

the media player hid does not seem to work with media player 10 (the latest one) except from the play/pause key...has anyone noticed it and/or found a solution? thnx!

kyr 10.gif
Mahk3
Hmm other keys might work in fullscreen as is the case with The VLC remote. Or they have simply changed the certain hotkeys for those commands so it does not work anymore as a cause of that. But I'll be sure to find out what the problem is.

Sit tight, I'll have this in a jif.

I can't connect to my PC. How to set PC to haf HID service?

New updated remote control for Windows Media Player 10 series.

Since new Media Player uses some new hotkeys and new functions I went ahead and made an updated version of the old one including new picture and some new keybindings.

On a note:
Rename to hid file as you see fit cause the name before .hid is what will show on the phone so I suggest replaceing the "_" with empty spaces.

I can't connect to my PC. How to set PC to haf HID service?

you will need drivers for your BT dongle to be able it to be used as a HID device.
windows xp sp2 has BT drivers which work, if your BT dongle did not come with the correct drivers.

Q: does anyone else have a problem whereby the k700 keeps asking "Start remote control?"

It's all good, except it pops up like a lost little dog every 20 seconds to keep asking me! - how can I stop this from annoying me (without turning BT off)?

most of the bluetooth dongle doesn't work in windows xp sp2, the condition for them to work is - update the bluetooth dongle's driver to 1.4 or above which is widcomm. bluetooth 1.4 ...

bcos onli 1.4 or above support human interface devices (hid)

since that i'm still using windows 98, i still can use k700i as a remote control to my pc.

(i was given some wrong imformation that onli windows xp sp2 will support hid.)

0 = Shuffle Playlist Toggle

Download below:

*IMPORTANT* For this remote to function completely, some hotkeys in "Preferences/Hot Keys" needs to be checked. These are:

Open Files
Volume Up
Volume Down
Mute ON/OFF
Playlist Window Show/Hide

This is because I tried it with the default hotkeys on these, but it did not work with them. But it should work with these Hot Keys enabled. And don't worry, enabling these Hot Keys won't change the default ones, so both will be usable.

Thanks robban984 rockon.gif

@Armo
at this site you'll find the necessary Pdf:s to make a HID, but it's not much of a tutorial. The page requires free registration and after that search for HID, and look for this pdf "Developers' Guidelines: Bluetooth HID Remote Control".

http://developer.sonyericsson.com

Took some time for me to get into making these but not very long.

Period = Pause

@Lunna
and anyone else interested in a tutorial on how to create the actual HID-files

When you have made your picture with resolution 176x220 on k700i, and your .kcf file containing the bindings.

Use Simplyzip to compress these both files to a *.TAR archive. I find it best to place/create all files directly in the C:\ drive given that's your maindrive with your OS on. I've tried placing the files elsewhere but noticed that the Hid did not function on the phone if I did, so allways place image/kcf file in C:\ before compressing them.

-Then with Simplyzip opened press "New" button (big one)
-Browse to C:\
-On pulldown menu select TAR
-Enter wanted filename eg. the name of the program it's for.
-Press "Save"
-New window opens
-Press "Add files.caption=" or something like that my OS is swedish so I don't know proper names of buttons in english (guessing, direct translation)
-Browse to and select both the image and kcf file which should be in C:\. Then press "Open".
-Then "OK"
-Simplyzip should say something like "Creation of file is done".

Then go to C:\ on your computer and simply rename the *.TAR file to *.HID and your done, send to phone and enjoy your own created remote control rockon.gif
