A new tutorial is coming, this time on how to convert 3GP/3GPP video clips shot using mobile phones in MPG format, so that you can watch them on any PC!
The original tutorial (which might be improved over time...) is here:

0. Tools of the trade
In this guide we will show you how to convert movies shot with your cell phone (in 3GPP/3GP format) in a different format which can be easily viewed on any PC (namely, MPG). We will use SUPER, a free tool which can be downloaded using the links on this page.
1. Conversion
Install and run SUPER, then copy the 3GPP video file from your cell phone to your PC and open it, dragging and dropping the file icon inside SUPER window.

You can now choose the target format for your converted file, using the Select the Output Container drop-down list; to make sure it can be viewed on as many PCs as possible (regardless of the installed codecs), in this example we are converting the original clip into MPG format - namely, Video CD (VCD) Compliant format, as shown in the pic below.

Using the parameters shown above, the output video will have a better resolution too (352x288 instead of 176x144); if the source video quality is not too bad, the converted video should be acceptable too - don't expect anything like a real camcorder anyway!
You can play with the different formats available in SUPER and try to increase the target resolution further (up to MPEG II format with 720x576 DVD resolution), but be warned: you might be disappointed by the quality of the output file.
You can also choose the destination folder (directory) for the output (converted) file: right-click on an empty area inside SUPER window and click on the Specify The Output Folder Destination item.

In the Browse to save the rendered file? dialog, browse through the folders, highlight the one of your choice and click the SAVE Changes button.

Make sure that the file you wish to convert is checked in SUPER main window, then click the Encode (Active Job-List Files) button to start the conversion process.
Once it's finished, you will find the converted video file (viewable on any PC, and with a better resolution too!) in the folder you've just chosen!
