Its based on lowest score. So you may be getting low score for Graphics and Gaming.
It's the score given for Onboard VGA. Upgrade to a better VGA card and you will see the score getting to top without any problem.

it is my lap top ........can i upgrade my lap's vga card .......... (i think Nvidia is the best graphic card ...that will suport all pc games ........ )

my desktop pc is AMD athlon X2 , with Nvidia inbuilt card , 2 gb RAM ..... the vista base score of it is 4 ... but some problem has happend when playing Call of duty series .......... ,but it is work very well in lapy.........

i dont think you can but if you go a special laptop witch support upgrading you can but it must be a gammers laptop and they dont come cheap.

I installed Vista 64 bit as Techno bro said and it's working perfectly.
You can only install 64 Bit if you are using 64 bit processor. It's not necessary to install 64bit if you are using memory less than 4Gigs of Memory.
Before you install 64bit versions make sure you have got all 64 bit drivers.

Yes your CPU can run 64bit O/S.
You have to buy 64bit O/S. (Make sure you have 64bit drivers for your hardware before upgrading)
I recommend to upgrade to vista 64bit if you have got 4Gigs of RAM or more.

ADVANTAGES of Vista 64bit

* Faster compared to 32 bit as 64 it uses better memory management.
* Maximum memory size limited to 128GB where 32bit is limited to 4GB( uses only 3.3GB due to Physical Address Extension-PAE ).
Interesting thing about 64-bit architecture is that they can support approximately 16.8 million terabytes (2^64).
* 64 bit Software or games can work even faster than 32bits. ( Commonly there are no much software or games released for 64bit).

DISADVANTAGES of Vista 64bit

* Some 32 bit games or software will not run in 64 bit platform. (Most of 32bit software and games works without any problem)
* Lack of drivers released in 64bits.

Hi Its not a Quad it may be Dual Core. Quads will easily get 5.9.
And how can it score 5.5 for the 5.56Ghz clock speed?!

Disk Transfer speed = 5.9 (Maybe 5.9 for your 320GB HDD)

Your Intel Graphics 4500MHD is way better than 3100Series. My M/B has got GMA3100 and it scores
Graphics(AERO) =3.1
Gaming Graphics =3.0

When I installed another RAM dual channeled score went to-
Graphics(AERO) = 3.9
Gaming Graphics =3.2

So your card should score ~4 or more for both.
Your Laptop can score higher on other except for Graphics and Gaming. So I think your vista base score can be ~4 or above which will be the Graphics score.

Hmm.. I can't say it.
Because new games required shader model and vertex model 3.0 or 4.0. Intel Graphics cards are shader model 2.0.
So it's basically good for applications/software but I don't think it's best for gaming. For gaming I recommend you should use a powerful VGA card with higher specifications.
You may able to run some new games but you can't max out settings.

Also if possible check Virtual 3D Marks in Futuremark. Virtual Mark

I only mentioned about shader models. It's just essentional to run the game.
When it comes to gameplay there are more factors affecting it. If you want to buy a powerful VGA card to run latest or upcoming games you need to know all those.



Anyone can know about rigs by googling for hardware information or from wiki.



No need for that. Only we need a better CPU and GPU to play games, NOT the world's top CPU or GPU.
It's only a better idea to buy consoles like PS3 or Xbox360 if you want to play games if you are not looking to upgrade your PC.

this is my windows 7 base index

it took me nearly 24 minutes to complete the base index test
and I want to ask 1 thing
why is the gaming graphics is displayed 4.9 in windows 7 and in windows vista
it displays 3.4 ?

Well vista score and Windows 7 scores are not perfect benchmarking. It just shows in which sections you to upgrade your hardware. If you want to really test your PC's 3D performance just use 3DMark Vantage or even 3DMark 06.

In Vista the maximum base score was 5.9 but in Windows 7 it has been raised to 7.9. So I think it's just because of the increased max marks you have got good marks.
Somehow the CPUs and GPUs which scored the full 5.9 marks in Vista can't score the maximum 7.9.

oh but while testing for about 24 minutes it showed testing 3d mark 10 and 9 and so on

I never heard of 3D Mark 10 or 9. :S
Anyway if there is a 3D Mark testing involved in Windows 7 Base score it could be a good benchmarking.

Mine is a 4.0 on Windows Vista Home Premium
Guess will know abt the New scores once i Update to Windows 7

the reason i degraded back to vista ultimate from windows 7
is because the intel GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator )
is not yet available
but if you have nvidia or ati video driver's
then you can buy windows 7
