I want to make my own themes with photoshop but when i cut the picture in 3 parts - 176 x 18 for statusbar
- 176x 176 for standby
- 176 x 26 for softkey

in transparent layers and things the softkey won't fit :s the statusbar fits correctly why won't the softkey? am i doing something wrong?

in transparent layers

how are you saving the images? even if the images are saved in png 24 or save for web the images should show up. i should know koz i accidently made a whole theme with png 24 and umm...let's just say the size was alil larger than expected wacko.gif

When doing softkeys, wallpaper and statusbar,...you dont need to save them in PNG, since they cannot be transparent in standby or desktop view (theres nothing underneath these pics)..

Just save them as ordinary Jpg wink.gif
(when saving in Jpg, save as Normal, not progressive mode).

PNG transparent files are used for eg highlights and tab buttons.
PNG also can be big in KB/file-size, so my advice is to use Jpg instead smile.gif

And the reason why your softkeys will not work, might be because in the theme creator, the softkeys also have a "background colour", and program might not be able to identify the transparency...

When you set colours for text in Theme Creator, there will be small red squares behind colourcode, if these do not match each other.

Ok,..I can see what you mean,..they dont align right smile.gif

Pictures are working ok,..but apparently you must have cut them up, or maybe flattened/merged the softkeys picture, so that it doesnt match up.

Looks as if its been pushed to one of the sides,...did you add any layer-effects to it before merging it ?

Just looked again,..it does look as if an effect has been made on the softkeys,..I see a small light stripe on the left of the softkeys.

But what can i do about it? i think it's the middle that's too small and the stripe on the left of the softkeys. But i's a test the statusbar is fitting very well i think for mine photoshop qualities smile.gif but is there a online photoshop tutorial to help me out? i'm a noob :s

check to see if you have that particular image feathered. i had that prob before when making t610 themes till i found out i was feathering the image by accident
vinnieza
That's because the white is actually on the wallpaper image? Are you sure the whole image that you're cutting is 176*220? and are you sure everythings lined up properly?
