Out of sudden, there's a surge of touchscreen mobile devices. With the introduction of iPhone, Nokia Aeon, LG Prada, we are seeing more and more keyboard-less phone.




What is your opinion on this? Will you buy a touchscreen mobile phone in exchange for a larger screen? Or you still prefer having the keyboard?

A hybrid is the best! But at any rate i will not give up a keypad.....i can do without a touchscreen, but not keypad

Yes, many claimed that they want the keyboard. Is there any specific reason for that? Better gaming experience?

Touchscreen would come in handy, i.e Sat Nav and Maps, but you still need a keypad.
As I found with the LG Chocolate, when it get's hot, it cannot distinguish your presses on the touchscreen.

If the N95 had touchsreen for it's GPS and Sat Nav it would be even more awesome.

So all in all a hybrid option would be best.

I don't like touchscreen phones. The keepad is OK for me. And a Bluetooth keyboard .

its not that i dont like touch screen but i think its always good to have a keypad ...

Though iPhone looks really nice, I don't think it would be same with its touchscreen. I understand using of stylus for PDA's it is ok, but for smartphone - only keyboard imho.

i prefer mine with a keyboard....

I've never seen a touchscreen up close, I don't know anyone who owns one.

I think I'd prefer the keypad though. When I think about the phone in my purse or pocket and getting keys hit by accident...I gag!

Yeah, don't like that either. I think most of the touchscreen devices has a screen lock with them.

i think the future of mobile phone won't include a keypad at all. But this is just my prediction. I imagine a phone that is composed only of screen. You can maximize the capabilities of your phone. Watch HD quality videos at full screen, view GPS maps, zoom and view pictures with just a click away. I know the Iphone has this qualities, but at this point, I still consider it as primitive. Perhaps 10 years from now, we can see more phone like these... Oh I can't wait!

Now lets just hope that future mobiles would be a lot nicer than the iphone, as it's shape is really not that well considered, It's just an I pod which can make calls!!!!...

Nothing fancy, and by the way does it support a memory card??????..

I know it has a large memory built in it... but by 2 or 3 years you'll find that it sucks if you don't have a memory card in your phone!!, you can't expand the memory...

Let's just hope for a better shaped phones... Like SonyEricsson's doing with its new phones...

I know that the companies are going to shake things after the Iphone got out, but the time is still early...

and as the time is still early, SonyEricsson has made 2 new super phones, the new W580i, P1, S500i, that's 3 sorry....

but SE is on the way to creating the ULTIMATE phone....

And nokia has made a good phone too, the N95, although I don't like it that much, but it's a start...

I hope the new phones come in a considerable prices...
Like in money that can be paid easily...

About the P1i, I think that i would buy this phone, Who can join in....
I mean who would buy the phone???...

i saw the SE P1i and it was awesome. Unlike its predecessor, now it doesn't have moving parts like the flip. Very good design, Nice one SE! Also, i've heard the OS is now faster, thanks to its new improved processor and RAM.

im actually dreaming of owning one, because i believe SE is known for making quality phones.

I respect others if they like the Iphone. But soon the touchscreen era will definitely take over the phones today and the competition will be better. But they must first improve the technology behind it. I want a phone that is sleek, have clean lines and doesn't bulge on my pocket. I know SE or even Nokia and some others are doing something in the coming trend.

I can't wait!
