Needed to be contact with my family and friends
to show off in front of others who didnt have one

I bought my first mobile bcos i can call it as my first mobile.
i first didnt brought my phone actually i got it free as a gift from
a friend i have never been a phone lunatic but once i got it i turned
into one of em ... and after a few months i hated it and thought of
buying a new one ... cuz it never had bluetooth at those times i remember
bluetooth function started to get popular and it never supported
a big memory or never supported mp3s
which i hated so much i found living with a midi tone as my ringtone a bit
annoying ... this is how i started living with a phone ... -
at those times i remember one of my friends
came once and said hey i got a few songs in my phone u want me to
bluetooth those to ur phone ? ... and i was like ... -
a friend i have never been a phone lunatic but once i got it i turned
into one of em ... and after a few months i hated it and thought of
buying a new one ... cuz it never had bluetooth at those times i remember
bluetooth function started to get popular and it never supported
a big memory or never supported mp3s

lol then i went on to get a nokia 3210 and after that most nokia's after that model and now i got a sony ericsson w580i(personal business), w880i (personal) and a lg shine for work lol the main reason for getting a phone was so that my mum n dad could get hold of me lol

Yes I can understand. But Now u dont have to
worry as u hav got phones all with bluetooth facilty.btw wat was the brand and the model of ur first phone?
it was 31 December 2001 and my dad bought my 1st phone as a present)) ... it was the coolest one at that time))... now I have Nokia 7610 - and I wouldn't change it untill it be broken)

I'm a scout leader, though I'm not as active as before. But when I used to be (a few years ago) all of my scouts used to call me day and night. And it made my parents mad because the phone wouldn't stop ringing. So, I decided to get a mobile phone so my scouts would reach me whenever they wanted and wherever I was. ^__^ And then I started working and I had patients who needed to contact me, so a mobile was definitely a plus.

my first phone was for my 14th birthday and it was a sagem....WITH MINI GOLF...blew me away
The firstphonei bought was the w850i because it was white
then i started selling phones LOL, ive had w850i, m600i, nokia 6233, motorola v6maxx, and now atm im using w910i, gotta update again soon

Well no special reason but you know when you are in highschool, that funny age, and your friend has it, and some more friends got it, and you seem to realize that you need it too and that is a very interesting thing ... so I was sad for sometime for not having it , and then my mum bought one for me it was Alcatel (I guess she was sick of me beeing sad ... P.S. RazBg your story is really touching

My first mobile was Ericsson T10s...I got it as a birthday gift from my parents, the reason is probably because it was easy to communicate like that and because everyone had one.
well i bought i first phone when i was 4 a reely old nokia with out color screen but now i change phone every i to 2 years!!! i am a fan but not a nerd!!

SO i could be in touch with family on my long commutes to and from college especially in winter. I had my first mobile from sprint in 1997. Service was terrible but it came in extremely handy most times. To date I've been through 5 different phones.

Seemed like a good idea at the time. About 1995 a Novatel 830 analogue, stored 100 numbers and not alphabetically either. The order they were entered was the order they stayed.
but still alphabetical order helps you find the ones you want.

at first, i dont wanna have a mob. coz i thought i dnt know how to use those things (duh!!!) but then, my sister has her 1st mob. my parents told me that we need those, so my dad bought mi my 1st mob. it was nokia 3210 (old school, about yr 2000).
I got my first Mobile because I thought it looked cute.,
They had just brought out the Nokia 3315 in blue and white. It was a cutie but then it had no camera, no mp3 so it had to go and I have had a hoard of phones since then. I just recently gave away my Nokia N95 because I didn't like the bulk and it wasn't Pink.

My First Phone Samsung J600,i loved that phone,just got rid as it fell from my hands many time,sometime from bed sometime from 1st floor.i know u cant imagine but it was still full firm and working.
I loved that Phone.
I bought this first mobile phone to keep contact with my friends and use as an mp3 player,and i was never disappointed the volume was was bit slow but quality was GREAT.
How can i forget the great user friendly feather touch keys.
They were best in the price category.

Thought it was a good idea at the time. I was right. About 30 fones since 1996, I made the right choice.
