I always used to turn off my mobile but now I just leave it on. Except for the times when my service provider decides to send me an advertising SMS in the middle of the night, it's not really a hassle to keep it on.

While you are in the country or is it when you are overseas and get SMS in the middle of the night due to time differences?

Then did your phone get confiscated or something?

with my first mobile, I did a giniss record, I believe, as I turned the phone off just a hand full of times.
maybe 10 times, during a period of 5 Years....

but the last time I turned the phone off, was so I can take the sim card from it and put it in the new phone I bought..

now the new one got turned off about 10 times, because sister wanted to try it with her sim...
and because I wanted to send some text messages to my self from her Sim.

I rarely switch off my phone. If it ever is off, it's because the battery has died.

i never switch my phone off........ it switches its self off, only if u miss treat it tho lol e.g if u push it down to hard it will turn off it has got feelings too. Other than that the phone stays on 24/7 and is on charge every night with out fail :hehe:

I normally dont switch off my celly (K610i at the moment).

But since mobiles get more and more like computers, a reboot often helps with software problems

I never turn mine off either. Only put it on silent every once in a while. (Motorola SLVR L7c.)

never switch off... ahh and about people waking up with mobile alarm clock .. NEVER WORKS FOR MEEEE BUT NEVERR .. i sleep like i am dead... i have 2 phones i put them both to ring in the morning i have another 2 table clocks also ringing .. sometimes i wake up and turn them off and when i REALLY wake up i don't remember when i did that... anyway i need to hire a rooster or smth ..

Yeah, sometimes I have the same problem like you. Luckily that doesn't happen during the exam.

Usually i keep it under my pillow in my hand but when i have to charge it i turn it off and keep a pin code request so no body can open it coz i have a fear that some body will check my phone when i am sleeping and thats ...

I never switch off my phone. Only if I need to take the card out. Even only seldomly for loading.
And yes, I also have it next to my bed.

Am I the only one who turns my phone off here? Normally I turn my phone off at school or work, or when Im playing golf etc. I keep it on my desk when I go to bed, which is across the room from my bed. I keep my phone on when someone wants to contact me, or if Im contacting them. A lot of the time I always turn my phone on to discover un-answered calls.

i keep my phone on, all the time. i us it as an alarm clock, to wake me up in the mornings. if it dies i bust out my other battery.

I wasn't aware that my phone had an off button.

my last phone was a treo and it could only be left on standby mode

i just turn my phone off at nite or to charge it cuz if i leave it on even if it on silent it stills wakes me up lol

Amazing! Not many people can do that.

I know many people who wouldn't wake up even tho their phone vibrates and gives out a loud music tone. Myself included.

Hmm...I had to "train" to not woke up. I cant go to sleep if I have something blinking....like that green light that blinks on some mobiles...so if it vibrates...I woke up in a second...

mine is always on, 24/7. i use it for my alarm, but thats no excuse because it can come on, alarm and when i turn off the alarm, will turn off. but honestly i figure what's the point in that. ever since i got my first mobile that has been my contact with the rest of the world, i forget i have a house phone until it rings then i remember that other device.

I turn it off every time I get angry on my friend When I'm angry I don't want to answer him, so the best way is to not know that he calls me or sends me SMS

I also use my phone as alarm. But I've noticed that it's not clever keeping it on my bed cause I turn alarm off without knowing it. That's why I keep it on my table so I have to get up from the bed to turn alarm off. The best way to hear alarm is to put it in some stewpan , you will certanly hear it.

I switch my phone only when my boyfriend make me mad when we happen to have a fight over the phone... then I just switch it off Anyways even when I sleep it is on but I switch the ringing of, becouse I am not very happy when someone wakes me up

I turn my phone off every night when i go to sleep. Alarm still works and that's the main use for my phone while i'm asleep. oh and..i must agree with what was said previously



lol. like i said, even if the phone's off, the alarm still plays..so i need it near me to snooze! =P

Note: For those who feel like their phones are starting to mess up a bit, try turning your phone off every night, it usually allows the "mini-pc" to rest and regenerate. Try keeping your computer on for a couple of days straight, by the end of it, chances are it's running less efficient than when you last restarted. =P
