The stand-by rig was built in 1998 to replace an AMD 486DX/4/120 and saw me right thru to 2005. It started life as a PII/350 with a whopping 64MB RAM and a 4MB ATI RAGE Pro with a huuuuuge 20GB HD. I think it saw 4 new hard drives, 4 new video cards and numerous RAM & optical drive upgrades.

How things change tongue.gif

Strangely enough the stand-by and my current rig both cost roughly the same to build.

i don't own a desktop but i do have a laptop.i like to play games.is there any way that i can "custome" the laptop so i can play more high 3D games???my compaq presario is with AMD Turion64x2 and nVidia GeForce Go 6150 (256MB).1GB DDR2 Ram and 80GB sata HD.
