Does anyone have similar problem? How to solve this problem?
CrystalEYE
I dont know what the "IM" stands for, but I got a K610 (O2-Software) and I can easily install and play Java-games.

Maybe it is usefull if you post your Softwareversion here and the name of the game you are experiencing troubles with.

think your problem is it runs on JBlend Java platform simply different java support on this phone than other phones

The version of Java is DoCoMo Java .... this is not compatable with the standard J2e thats found on the other none imode phones sad.gif 1.gif

so what does this mean? can we get DoCoMo Java games or we're stuck with the standard phone games?
Belalali
it means we can not run the games for other Sony Ericsson games with the same screen resolution etc. It means you have to buy games that are DoCoMo Java compliant .. ... ie either go to your service provider and buy them... or go to japan and get them from there as most Java phones in Japan are DoCoMo Java based.

K610im (i-mode) does not run java games /applications!!
Hello, my question regards the Java aspect of the k610im the i-mode variant of the k610i. But also I want to put this information out there as it was a shock to me and required much trawling. If any readers have had the same problem - post!

I have become aware (after buying the phone for my games studio development team to check our games in development on a real sony ericsson phone rather than emulators) that this phone uses DoJa (DoCoMo Java) rather than the MIDP 2 standard as on the normal k610i thus preventing the installation of java applications and games which are compatible with all other recent sony ericsson phones including the normal k610i. We all loved the phone but it does not fit our purpose but as I had to use the phone to find this out my carrier will not replace it for another model (They are not developers and don't care about silly things like java not working).

JAR files (the file format for existing games and applications) are not accepted by the k610im, believe me I have spent the last 3 days in every forum under the sun!. Bluetooth, usb cable, wap download try what you want it won't work. Sure you can tranfer/upload the files onto the phones "other" folder on the phone but you will not get an install option.

When I bought the phone I thought i-mode was just an internet browser function that worked something like aol online alerting you when you left i-mode specific sites. How wrong I was. But I don't think the difference between K610i and K610im is made clear enough anywhere.

My question is: Is a firmware update available/planned to allow both standard java and DoCoMo specific software be installed and run on the K610im - and if not why not as this is a huge let down for the phone and I suspect others have voiced this opinion.
