Dear friends,

I recently purchased a Sony Ericsson k750i and have been in love with it ever since.

On a pigheaded impulse, I tried to convert some of my music files from MP3 to MIDI and my friend (who has very cleverly been offline since) emailed me this "wonder software that would do the trick".

I used the software to convert some files and transferred them to my phone. Now the files don't work and I can't delete them either sad.gif(

Could someone please help?
Thanks very much!

that's strange, you should be able to delete them. How are you trying to delete them?

Don't convert MP3 to MIDI, you won't gain anything, apart from gaining a few Kbs, which isn't worth it.

Instead of converting to MIDI, just trim your MP3s appropriatly if you want to use them as ringtones.
Check the Masters of Sounds in the Lounge Forum for tips on audio conversion and cutting.

Thanks very much for the help, Adonis!

I'm trying to delete them by pressing "c" - nothing happens when I do that. On clicking "more" and "delete" I get a message saying "protected file" sad.gif

Thanks again.

You might have to try making a back up of your whole phone then doing a master reset and restoring the back up. The master reset will remove all files and restore the phone back to it's factory settings

Thanks very much mate! I tried out your suggestion after saving the numbers and messages to the sim card. Now the undeletables are gone, along with the other music I had on the memory stick sad.gif

The good news is that the phone is in top shape now. Thanks again!!

download MOBYEXPLORER, den install it on ur fone,,,

then store it in ur APPLICATIONS folder, den select it...

select the file you want then press MENU>PROPERTIES, there should be 3 boxes marked READABLE, WRITEABLE and HIDDEN,
check only the READABLE and WRITEABLE...

then select the file you want to delete and press C...

it workes,,,

it's effective...

it works also on the factory-installed files too. rules.gif

If you are storing them at your MS, then it would be easier to use a card reader for copy, paste and delete thumbsup.gif
it's much faster too

@ reijin
this MOBYEXPLORER works also to unlock, locked factory-installed files? (games, tunes etc.)
