my phone is connected to my pc but whenver i open the program PST or P2k man my phone disconnects just like that what should i do i have eveything installed good everything is perfect but i dont know what happens when i put on the program...?

one other problem how do i delete my original files( pics, video's, theme)
EchoZulu
Have you followed all of the guides and links in this topic? Have you tried everything in it? Have you tried Yitz's guide?

Uninstall everything including all P2k software and the drivers and start again. No need for PST so I don't know why you would have it but make sure you uninstall that as well. If you have a compatable OS (Win2k SP3/XP SP2) then it will work if you follow the guide, unless of course you have other problems with your system.
shermanakaice
nothing is rong with my pc or anything its just whenever i put on the program p2k it says my phone is not connected so tell me please in steps what to do .
all i need is a program to delete my original files like the

and if its good i have did egzactly as it have but only mpt

EchoZulu
I'll ask one more time. PLEASE, for the sake of my sanity, read this topic. I will be happy to try to help you but there is precious little that I can do if you don't read what's here!

First of all, in the first topic it clearly stated that no P2k programs will work if MPT is open so I'm not quite sure why you're trying that.

In fact, you should uninstall MPT until you get this problem sorted.

Secondly, why are you still using PST? Uninstall it, it is unnecessary and can cause problems. Get rid of it.

Now that you've removed MPT and PST, uninstall ALL of your P2k programs. Every single one. Delete them completely.

Now you should have no MPT, no PST, and no P2k programs at all on your PC.

Now download THIS file and save it on your dektop. Then follow these instructions (courtesy of mikekay10 on mobiledia):

Run the Device Manager batch app that you downloaded above (devmgr.bat that was in the devshowall.zip). Windows Device Manager will pop up. Click the view menu, and select "Show Hidden Devices". Now navigate to the Modems catagory, click the + next to it. It will expand. Remove all traces of Motorola USB Modem. Do this by right clicking over the item and selecting "Uninstall" Next, navigate to the Motorola USB Device Catagory (if its there), click the +, and uninstall everyone of the items in there. Finally, navigate to the Universal Serial Bus controllers catagory, click the +, and uninstall all "Unknown devices".

Once you've done that, follow the guide in post 1 or Yitz's guide which is linked at the bottom of post 1 - to get your phone connected to your PC. When searching for RSD Lite, make sure you get version 2.7.

Once you've done that, download v2 of my software installer suite linked in my sig. This will have all of the apps you need.

Once you've done all that, post here and tell me about it. Then I can help you delete your stock ringtones etc. Note the big red warning though - if you just go in and delete them you will cause big problems. There is a way to do it that won't cause problems but we don't need to go there yet. First, get connected!

YAY!!!! RSD LITE FOUND MY PHONE!!!! I LOVE U MAN THNXXXX ALLOT
EchoZulu
Great! See, a little time and patience paid off!

Now just be careful as I mentioned before when deleting stock files.

First of all, the files that you delete CANNOT be in use when you delete them. In other words, make sure that ringtones you delete are not in use by ANY ring style (loud, soft, etc) you you will run into big problems. Wallpapers should not be in use by the current skin when you delete them. Etc.

Next, DO NOT delete any file until you have changed the attributes to 000000! If you do, you will have big problems. Use P2k Commander or P2k Tools to change the attributes of each and every file before you delete it.

Lastly, back everything up to your PC and NEVER delete a file if you don;t know what it is! Also NEVER delete the Moto skin or wallpaper.

Good luck.
shermanakaice
all i want to do is delete all the silly ringtones all the silly wall papers and all the silly videos can you explain in steps how to do that with p2kman?
and explain how to put in games and moving screensavers etc...
shermanakaice
after you finish explaining me about p2kman i want you to visit this site and tell me what programs are good to download for stuffs back http://www.razrmods.com/page1.html
EchoZulu
Well I can't do everything for you, you'll have to do some research on your own. But as far as deleting unwanted files, go here:

http://motox.info/showthread.php?t=3581&highlight=memory

Just make the following note: You should use P2k Tools instead of p2kman. Also, the linked guide is for the V3 rather than the U6. If you don't find the files mentioned in the /a/ directory, look in your /c/ directory.

As I said, make sure that you change the attributes to 000000 before deleting the files listed in the link. Also, you should go through ALL of your ring styles before you do this and set every single sound to the same tone. Then, do not delete that tone while you're going through and deleting files. Make it one of your own ringtones perhaps so that you know you won't delete it by accident. If you don't do this, you will have problems.

Lastly, now that you're connected to your PC please do not make further posts in this thread as it is for connection problems only. If you need help with something you can post a new thread in the User Support forum ONLY AFTER you have searched this site and google for answers.
shermanakaice
OMG!!! ONE PROB how to restore a file when u deleted it by mistake from p2k commander
EchoZulu
Just copy the file that you backed up onto your PC back into the directory that it originally came from.

may be this file is having virus or sumthing...so plz tell me the procedure guys...plz

thanx batul

EchoZulu
There are no viruses for P2k so don't worry about that.

Did you delete the Moto skin? If so, reinstall it and see if that helps. If not, you should back up your contacts/pics/etc and flash your phone.

Search this forum. On the first page either here or in the user support forum I have discussed flashing and you should have all the info you need on how to do it.

Please do not post any further in this thread regarding this matter as it has nothing to do with PC connection problems. Thanks.

Still Can't conected
I'm using Mot e398 (hijacked)
How was it ?
EchoZulu
You'll have to be a bit more descriptive. What part of the guide are you having trouble with?
rommel28
sir i'm neww here. why rsd lite 2.7 does not detect my mobile? v3x? is there any sofware needed other than motomidman and rsd lite? thank you
EchoZulu
Welcome to m9. smile.gif

Have you installed the drivers mentioned in the first post of this topic?
rommel28
whoah i almost forgot that, thanks sir. if i download that it can detect my mobile?? because when i purchase my mobile, i had a different software. it is MOTOROLA PHONE TOOL version 4.0... theres no java installation included in that software. it only edit videos, sounds and pics. thats all, thanks a lot sir... clap.gif
Milesinpcb
I have searched quite a bit, and read the FAQ, but I still can't find my answer.

Initially, I installed motomidman, but it wouldnt recognize my phone (alltel, V3m) So I downloaded RSDlite 2.7, and the drivers needed to make it connect. So finally I got RSD to recognize my phone, but now motomidman freezed when I try to open it with RSD open and connected. I have tried deleting and reinstalling motomidman multiple times, and still no luck. Any ideas?
EchoZulu
You should try a different version of MotoMidMan.
rommel28
i already installed motomidman and RSD Lite 2.7 but my computer ask a different software and these are: Motorola Accesory, Motorola MCU Data Logger and Motorola Test Command... i dont know what to do next. because when i always open RSD Lite, it can't detect my phone. my os is Windows XP SP2. can you help me again? thanks
EchoZulu
You haven't installed the drivers. Read the first post of this topic again.
Milesinpcb
Alright, I tried another version (I think) of motomidman. I opened it, and it showed "not responding" again, but I left it this time, and eventually it gave me the "unsupported device, cannot continue" message. This means my Razr is not compatable, or is there another possible solution? I tried to search for "midman Error" as you mentioned before, but I couldn't find a clear thread to reference. Any more help?
EchoZulu
I just noticed that you have the V3m and I'm sure it's not included right now. What's your software and firmware versions? Let me know and I'll edit the ini file for you and it should work.
Milesinpcb
I would really love to give you those, but it appears that over the course of the night my computer has taken a step backwards. Now when I try to open RSD it freezes. The computer recognizes the phone and says everything is installed and working properly, but it wont work. I have tried reinstalling AND repairing both the drivers and RSD and still no luck. I am going to keep trying, but I will get those numbers to you ASAP. Thanks for all your help so far

EDIT: Also I just notices that as soon as I unplug the phone, RSD unfreezes and appears to work properly. This sounds like a driver error, but I couldn't imagine how, since they worked last night
EchoZulu
Check out the link to Yitz's guide and there should be info on uninstalling the drivers.

You can get your software/fw versions under other information under phone status btw. thumbsup.gif
Milesinpcb
I tried uninstalling the drivers by using the driver installer file, but I will try the other way.

The software, it is version NCR_01.19.00R
I dont know which is the Hardware version so here is a list of all I could see
Brew version: 3.1.2 ID: 8086 (most likely?)
Technology: dual 800/1900 CDMA 1x-EVDO
PRL version: 30005
ERI version: 100
SID: NAM: 544
EchoZulu
Ooooooo CDMA version huh? I'm not sure if it will work with any P2k software but let's give it a shot. If you can do me one last favor. Turn your phone off, then hold [*] and [#] while powering it back on. Now if you could just type everything on that screen. Then I'll attach a modded file here. thumbsup.gif
Milesinpcb
I did that and a blue screen with the "M" logo appeared in the background with "BOOTLOADER USB INIT" at the bottom.
EchoZulu
OK, try replacing the ini file in your main MMidMan directory with the file attached. I can't promise it will work but it's worth a shot...

Before you do it, make sure you have the latest version of MMidMan which is in the first post of the java game installation guide pinned in the Moto FAQs.

thumbsup.gif

Btw, does your phone support a memory card? If so, there's a much easier way to install games...
Milesinpcb
The ini file worked smile.gif Now midman recognizes my phone, and I can install games on the phone. The only thing is that once I restart and unplug the phone the games are nowhere to be found. I looked everywhere. I know at least dinnerdash is compatible with my v3m. I tried activating the Java settings under the phone settings menu in midman and that didnt seem to do anything, and I also made sude I adapted using the Jar files, which turned them into Jad files. I will keep searching, but I greatly appreciate your help

EDIT: now after I unplugged the phone a couple of times, the games dont even appear in midman. Once after I restarted the phone it flashed a quick "registering Apps" message, but nothing after that
Gee_eL_eE_eN_eN
can you help me i have a problem for detecting my fone i have a v3i fone... i already change the usb setting to data/fax... i opened RSD Lite 2.7 but when i open moto midlet there are no applications in the screen but the "READY" sign is there and the "status:disconnected" what should i do?
herr_janssen
hi
I have a Motorola e398 and I can't get it connected.
I have tryed everything in your guide, but I just wont connect.

Here's the thing, when I connect my phone it says new hardware (doesnt do this all the time though), then when I install the drivers it says its installed succesfully.
In fact I can access my phone with some software that came with it but that software wont let me send anything but photo's too my phone.

When I connect my phone and open a program like LSD my pc loads for a few sec, then I hear a sound wich indicates a disconnection of external device and after that a sound wich indicates an error while connecting a device.

I've installed drivers and tryed/did all the stuff you've mentioned.

I hope you can help me solve this cause I'm getting pretty iritated.
Thanks
EchoZulu
@Milesinpcb

It looks like your phone stores midlets in a different directory. Does it support a microSD memory card?

@Gee_eL_eE_eN_eN

Have you installed the drivers?

@herr_janssen

Try going through Yitz's guide and uninstalling your drivers. Then start over on a new USB port if possible. Make sure that no other programs (especially MPT) are open when trying to connect.
Milesinpcb
It does support a micro SD card, but I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy one. I'll keep trying. Nice multi-tasking BTW
EchoZulu

I'm not sure if you're in the US or not but if so, you can get a card very cheap through dealnews.com. thumbsup.gif
rommel28
when i running motomidman, the software says that, Unsuported Flatform.. Can't Continue. my mobile is motorola v3x. but i can use p2kman.
EchoZulu
Yes the V3x isn't supported. Do a search - I've posted a guide to install apps onto your memory card a bunch of times. thumbsup.gif
