So far all the accounts carry the same avatar which is the letter "A" & most have the word "abi" somewhere in the title.
Its not only M9 that has been effected by this/these members...its worse on Z***** bcos themes there dont get removed once reported as quickly as here.

Every so often a member pops up...simply uploads leeched / duplicate themes 10-20 at a time even.
Theres so many ways to tell a leeched theme yet these members will persist with uploading multiple themes at one time, including poor screenshots, deliberately choosing incorrect categories to avoid the original file already here thus making more work for the gallery mods etc, rarely do they add a description & then...... they deny it all
but what can you do ?.... nothing!...you simply stop one account & another crops up & so on & if you ask the member to stop.... you run the risk of getting abuse or having more themes leeched

edit: just read post by AW.... again its a shame another account was closed but im sure the persistant little blighter will be back.....

I agree with you bro...the only thing we can do is to report these leeched themes again and again...we can stop them together...

I just dont understand where the fun is in leeching...the fun should come from creating.
Its so obvious even for a newbie to spot a leecher simply by the numbers they upload, yet recently....here we have 2 leechers ( do you see how i dont like to refer to them as "members" ) uploading the same themes as each other, taking themes from the same site, roughly at the same time & uploading here within days of each other.
Its too a point now where i have stopped uploading my own themes while they continue to upload in mass or i have had to rejoin other sites just to control my own themes being uploaded by others.

but i will stress... at least on M9, they are removed very quickly once reported & that is an extra bonus to the rest of us who contribute.

Yes, you are absolutely right man...I can`t stop them on other sites like Z...e but I don`t care for that site even I have profile on it (I just hope people know what is the original)...but in this case (Mobile9) is much important to me...we must continue to fight against them and report every leeched theme we find...be well my friend and continue good work...

Reference members abusing other members who report leeched files:

Although i had to delete approx 12 messages as it was just too much for visitors to my page to have to read, I have more abuse on my profile page bcos i reported my leeched themes in this topic, you will see the profile ( http://p.mobile9.com/adnan1213/ ) has recently been made & not for the purpose of being part of the community, even the first visitor to this page was that of the "abi" member that admin alledged were previously banned....

& before its implied again that im not being positive in this forum... you bet im not, why should i be if some members are allowed to abuse other members in their profile pages despite requests to admin for something to be done.... we are simply baring the brunt bcos of the lack of action against these idiots.

Again i ask for these accounts to be closed bcos you already have....a history of other members posting links to leeched files in this topic, plus proof has been shown already reference the abusive or provoking comments ( admin has visited my profile to read the comments for themselves )
The comments dont bother me personally bcos im a stubborn git but it bothers me when visitors read them before i have had a chance to remove them.
members simply blocking these idiots from posting does not solve the issue, it merely passes the buck for another member to have to deal with.

It's not even a question whether we are prepared to terminate these accounts or not. I already banned this member when I said I did, using the only method available to me, or other SA (except Patrick, who has better access than anyone else).



The picture above didn't show the date the member was banned. He was banned the day when I said I did. It's up to you to believe my words or not. I don't live my life lying. Period.

Here is the full story. The member was banned long ago, however, he/she still able to post comments etc because . I can't tell you exactly how his/her banned is not effective yet because this will reveal the loop hole and allow others to exploit that in the future. So I will inform Patrick about this and let him sort this out.

I dont recall anyone implying you were lieing AW, its simply the very instance you stated the member was banned, i saw comments attached to many members files & this was being done constantly with no break thus suggesting this member was as active as before even having the exact same profile page layout, word for word.
Are you saying this person made another account using the exact same name bcos if thats the case then you are going to be dealing with a lot of problems from these member as there seems to be a few accounts made, for the purpose of causing trouble.

Introduce a topic, entitled something like "Community Concerns" where it allows all complaints regarding offensive, vulgar or racist remarks to be directed & dealt with by key persons who are entrusted & isnt affraid to act against these members who abuse this sites trust whereby actions speak louder than words! bcos in fairness, saying we will issue a warning is a waste of time only for these members to reoffend. The task of these key persons would be to purely monitor members profiles & file comment sections & act immediately when something offensive is found.

hi,i understand nemisis101 saying he is done discussing this particular topic but i would like to add my twopennies worth,as im one of those friends who visits his page to say hello and it disgusts me when i read all those foul messages . ive also seen the same type of messages on other members profiles /files by the same members that nemisis and other members are complaining about and i too cannot see where these accounts were closed,but instead more accounts are being made to cause distress to other members via their profile pages. i agree there should be a team of moderators whose only role is to monitor members profile pages and file sections and take swift action against those who abuse site rules.

have patience everyone.. ..AW already said that they are trying to resolve this issue.. ..

@Nemesis:: mate, as a old member of the forum, you should know how things are going around here.. ..Admins have to handle a lot of issues everyday.. ..so just show some patience and give them some time.. ..I'm sure it'll be solved pretty soon.. ..btw.. ..now we have the BLOCK USER option, so try that out.. ..

Appreciate the reply rhtz & of course you are right, i should know how things are going around here but in truth i dont bcos communication on certain issues is very poor.
New "delete & block" system... excellent idea but...
I refuse to remove these foul or abusive messages until admin acknowledge they have seen them bcos if i remove before hand i also remove my proof & i feel its important that admin see before hand.
I refuse to block all these members who abuse others simply bcos i do not want to pass that abuse to another unsuspecting member... if they want to abuse me im fine with that bcos it means they are leaving others alone.
I am not pointing the finger at admin, of course im not, but this site needs a team of site moderators who's role is to monitor members profiles & file comments & take the appropriate action against those who seek to provoke others rather than just posting requests via the forum bcos as you know... the percentage of forum users comparred to that of the overall members to this site is very low therefore for those members who see "site moderators" but dont use the forum will feel a little better knowing this site offers a little extra help to those that seek it.

The more i write about this, the more i will only bring poor judgement on myself, ive seen it before as moderator & ultimately i run the risk of being issued a warning from admin to be more positive within this forum but thats like saying... bury your head in the sand & that is not me therefore the only option i have is to not participate in this forum any longer rather than worry if my posts upset admin.

We do not ban those who upload items not made by themselves or have no permission from the original author. The two members were banned because they posted inappropriate comments on member's profile, NOT because they leached.

People deserve a second opportunity, we will contact them and ask that they do not upload instead of simply banning them. Without telling them what they do is not right, some will just keep creating new accounts and do the same thing. Remember Shalu? A while ago, Zjurina reported that she used his theme and convert them to Nokia themes. We contacted Shalu and guess what? She apologised, and now she is a very active member in TMC and are doing great in creating her own themes. Of course this is just an example and by no means replicable all the time. But that's our approach in dealing with leachers - remove asap, and contact them.

We're investigating this. In the mean time, block this user.

The problem with a moderation team is there are thousands of comments each day and we struggle for mods as it is. Is it not easier to have a report option. E.g. NVD reported and within the day got all the user's comments removed: http://www.mobile9.com/invboard/index.php?...st&p=562778

As for not deleting comments so you can show an admin. We could have a set invisible feature so only admins and the profile owner can see the comment? Once an admin has seen the comment they can delete it.
