@ dragon - Here are the basicis - you help other members in the Ringtones section, help out luisleal, ssivic & JayDubb88 in the Mp3 Ringtones topic (find ringtones, or songs to be made into ringtones)...Or, you can specialize yourself by knowing a great deal about the hardware/software part of ringtoning...

Make your own ringtones, and upload the to the M9 Gallery...

Afterwards, you are always welcome to take part in the Ringtone Challenge...

Thing is, all the current M.o.S. members already had some uploaded ringtones in the M9 Gallery, and I could easily see how each members is doing, what is his style of music, etc... With you, I don't know anything yet... That's why my advice is to be active before you enter M.o.S... the member's place will be waiting for you...

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL MoS MEMBERS - ORGANIZATION

Seeing as we're currently at 16 members (and I'll probably remove trebllaw as a members, so there are 15 M.o.S members ATM), I think it is time to group members by their interest (and what they do best here at M9)... This will allow easier communication, and there won't be a need for me to solve every question/problem around here...

Before discussing the following image, remember this things:
1. This is just a concept, an idea
2. I'm at the top, there are no higher-lower ranked members, everyone is equal
3. Groups are determined by the jobs our members do around entire M9
4. I just want your opinion on this...



NOTES:
- the both moderator positions are inactive for the time being, the first opening spot will be for the M.o.S. subforum - you'll get notified in due time
- members are placed in groups by shown interest
- this has nothing to do with the Ringtone Challenge
- future members will be able to choose their group (if spots are empty)

EXPLANATIONS:
- technicians - know about hardware/software part of ringtoning, which software is the best, what to reccomend etc.
- investigators - fill up requests throughout the M9, find songs and make ringtones out of them, or just find ringtones on the net
- specialists - members that proved themselves with uploading ringtones, making ringtones, etc.
- alchemists - "universal soldiers", they know a little about everything
- scouts - members that check the downloads section in order to find new ringtone talents, and try to bring more members (that have potential) to M.o.S.

So, what do you think so far? This is just my idea, but really, we'll have to organize ourselves little better... because at this rate, we'll reach 50 members in no time, and than it will be anarchy, and I don't want that to happen...every member should know his place here, so all conflicts with the new members can be avoided...

I was thinking about this - each group would have a representative, a chief at group level. Why? So when some M.o.S. member gets asked for help, or gets a request that he can't solve, he can than turn to his gruop leader..and then if the group leader doesn't know the answer, he turns to me... Basically, I want to give myself relief, because as mush as I like helping others, there is just too many questions, that a lot of you guys already know the answers, anb by doing so, you would have a higher responsibility, have more contacts with other members etc.... For example - head investigator would be luisleal... others do their work regularly, and if they ran into a problem - they turn to him... If he can't help them (highly unlikely) he then asks me... and so on...

And not only that - each group woul be responsible for a topic inside M.o.S. subforum - ex. General Discussion -> Alchemists, Requests -> Investigators, Tips & Tricks -> Technicians...

As for the scouts - they should keep track with new uploaded ringtones to the Gallery, and keep me posted about new talented members, and maybe I accept them for M.o.S.... If they're good enough... Or if they're hard workers... Also, scouts shoul once a week check all members homesites t find out if the ranks have changed -> then they notify me, and I change the ranks in the M.o.S PM/Homesite book...



...so far this is working OK, but I'll have to build on this, that's why I need your opinion and ideas... But I hope in a week I'll get this kind of organization here up and running...

... and to go a little further, it is also possible that members under a group only do their job (and don't have to work anything other) - ex. specialists only make ringtones, and upload them to the Gallery, they don't have to worry about filling requests, finding other members, etc.

BUT, this kind of job dividing can onyl work if all the groups are active, because if the scouts don't do their job anymore, and turn to other jobs, this whole idea will lose its meaning and purpose...

@ all - Members are placed in groups by my opinion, but it doesn't mean it's definitive... I'll upload another, newer image, and add two of our potential members (coolguy & dragon)... All the members will have a choice to be in one group, but when chosen, the group is definitive (no additional changes will be possible)... Why? Because, I'll add the group to the signatures (like originally planned)... And I definetly don't want to update signatures more than once a month...

Ideas, comments people... This is an important subject for us all...

@ all - Also, if I offended anyone with the positions, I apologize, my intent was only to show the idea... But, if you think you deserve a better spot, please tell me, and we'll think of something... If by any chance, a members is not happy with being a group leader (doesn't want to be in charge/be responsible fo other members below him), he should tell me...

Like I've said before, I want all the M.o.S. members to be active not 100%, but 150%... ... If we manage to organize ourselves by this concept, than we'll never run into troubles, all problems will easiliy be solved, we'll be more open to other members, more helpful, and better functioning as a whole... So, I introduce to you the 2nd version of the M.o.S. structure - feel free to comment...

I think i have a good spot on the scale !

I'm active every day to check and update the information about the different things.

I know everything about music and i think i would have been a great investigator to because of my music knowledge , so if it's ok with luisleal i could have helped
him and the rest of the "investigator crew" with finding out what the name of the song is and even make a ringtone out of it.

Now some people may know me from my good taste of techno music . . . But i love all kind of music!

And I'm even staring to think about not only upload techno but actually something els too.

Well, you should pick the group under which you want to be... Investigator, Specialist, Alchemist, Scout or Technician...pick wisely, because there's no changing later...

@ gka3000 - in about a week I'll open a subscription topic, and it will be open for about a week, and every member will have the chance to sign in a specific group... This was just a concept, to make things easier to see and understand...

@ luis - Well, basically, you're responsible for those that are in the Investigators...if one of them runs into a problem, they first contact you, and then if you can't solve the problem/request, you then contact me...

I want other members to have responsibilities as well, not only me (because till now I was responsible for 16 members directly), this way I'll have more time to spend on moderating the Ringtone Challenge... And still be a leader to the whole group... And, members will know who to turn to, depending on their question...

@ Vanja - Sounds lovely... Just let me know if some things changes!

Well, you have to show interest for ringtones and/or software/hardware part of making ringtones... Only formality is that you have to choose the group which you want to belong to...(the M.o.S. structure image, about 15 posts earlier)...

I think you'd be best as a Head Technician (seeing you know a lot about software for converting/making ringtones...and other programs)... This whole new structured organization will start working in about a week or two, but I want to prepare all members for it... So, what do you say?

what does Head Alchemist mean

OK, so Alchemists are a group within M.o.S. that basically do everything around here, they don't have specialties... They do whatever they can...

And Head Alchemist means that you'd be responsible for some members that would be Alchemists as well, like a boss to them... But, all details in due time... Until then, just enjoy...

About the ranking... I'm not sure what you mean... Do you mean why it is not showing under your avatar (like mine Rank 8...)? Maybe you don't have enough CP's...I went to your homesite, says you have 3 CP points... but that should give you Rank:0... don't know...
