Here you will battle other Nokia themers and at the end we will together decide which theme is the best, that is done by voting.

Topic: New movie

Conditions: Only movies released from May onwards should be included. See this website for movie's date of release.

In short, the only thing you have to think about is to meet the topic and that you have to make a series 40/60 Nokia theme to compete.

The regular TMC runs for a week but since this is the first run we will run this competition for two weeks.

A final entries thread will be opened shortly where you place your finalized theme previews. Once posted in final entries, you cannot alter them at all. Deadline for final entries will be sunday, July 23, 23.00 CET (that's 22.00 GMT).

In this thread you can chat and spread fear into your opponents .. You can also post your work in progress and of course comment the work of others.

I hope all is clear, if not post your questions regarding the TMC here and I will answer as best I can.

this is what i got biult so far....just need to a bit of fine tuning the animated icons and some other tweeks

So is anyone else having problems with the site?? I'm having an impossibly hard time getting on mobile9. It's so slow it's intolerable, that is if the page doesn't time out.

Anyways, I've finished my theme as well. My problem is that I've already made movie themes that I liked and didn't have anything left to work with. (Spiderman 3, Ghost Rider, Superman, etc.. ) So, I made a new Venom theme. (from the upcoming Spiderman 3) So unless anyone objects, I'll post it here. Additionally, are we supposed to post it in the gallery as well? Or post the file here? I don't know cause I've never competed before.

I'm unsure on the posting rules for TMC's. I've read thru them and it's a bit confusing. In the gallery uploader, we can choose to check the TMC tourney box. I don't know if that automatically puts something here or there or what. Or if it would send my theme to the wrong arena. I was guessing, put the preview here and upload the file in the gallery? Anyways, my theme is good to go.

What is not nice is that it's impossible to browse and post on m9 these days, I hope it'll get better soon... I can't even put any smilies in this post...

You're right, just post your preview in here, so we can see it, and upload your theme in the gallery as usual (you can check TMC box too, it wouldn't change anything, don't worry, and themes are validated very fast these days anyway...)

Members wishing to enter, must post their preview image here so it can be entered into the voting thread.

Posts in this thread must not be edited.(within 5 minutes is ok, in cases of [img] tag problems or attachment crashes).

This thread will close 23.00 CET on July 23.

Yeah, I read it and I guess it's up to interpretation. It says New Movies, May and onwards. To tell you the truth, new movies to me means stuff that just came out or is coming out in the future. Movies that have been made since May are pretty played out as far as theme's go. Regardless, mine's ready to go and I really don't want to start over. Somebody please let me (us) know what's up please. I would like to post it!

may I ask you once when you uploaded the theme there was a program you can use to make screenshot, a virus formatted m pc and it eas lost, where i can find it again?thanks thanks thanks

If it's movies released in the past two months, that doesn't leave much room for innovation. Superman, Pirates, etc.... They've all been themed to death. Well, I made my theme and if it's not suitable, I'm out. I guess I missinterpretated this contest and I really don't want to start over.

Ok, go ahead and post it, although it may be a bit off topic. But it's not really up to me to judge it on or off topic, that's a thing the voters should take into concideration when voting. So you may use the theme but you must be aware of that it can cost you votes. The very same has happened in the regular TMC, just so that you know.

Nice one, mate! You don't have to post the nth-file in the forum. But to upload it and let others enjoy your work, you shold go to the gallery and choose your phone, under the featured themes you'll find a button named "Upload" - use it!

As a general recommendation to make your previews as good as possible I always preach about using png instead of jpg and that goes for the images in the themes too.

Normally it's just a matter of pressing the "print screen" button on your keyboard, opening your graphics software and "paste" or ctrl+v.

Okay, so here's my theme. I thought we could do upcoming movies as well and I'm really excited about Spiderman 3. Since I've already made a Spiderman 3 theme, I went with his arch nemisis from the upcoming film, Venom.
Now, my preview came out really dark as it is a dark theme. However, this theme is perfectly visible on my phone, it's not as dark as the preview. I repeat; The theme is MUCH more visible on the phone.

Well well well, i'll may try to up one theme, but, where could i find a list of film which fit the chalenge? I'm inspired to do some, but i'm in France, and movies are not on screen everywhere in the world at the same time... Example : Superman returns is on screen only since yesterday here (june 12th 2006) and i presume in Britain it was a few weeks ago, and in the states may be month ago... that's why i ask... so is there a place to find the recent movies on screen which could be valid for all M9 themers for this contest? Thanks.

At a first glance it might seems to be rather complicated. However, it will become easier once we get used to it.

1. You will have to make a new theme to fit the topic (any movie released from May till July).
2. Make a full preview.
3. Post it in this thread. (allow fellow themers to give comments)
4. Once the theme is final (you are satisfy), then post it in FINAL ENTRY THREAD.
5. At the end of the competition (23 July), a voting thread will be opened.
6. Participants have to cast their vote (failure to do so results in disqualification)

Ok, I'll try to explain further:

To join the competition you have to make a series 40/60 Nokia theme that meets the topic chosen, which this time is:

Topic: New movie

Conditions: Only movies released from May onwards should be included.

You have until July 23 to finish your theme.

You can post your work in progress in this thread.
Once you're finished with your theme, you must post the preview in the "final entries" thread, which can be found here. Only themes posted in the final entries thread will be added to the voting thread.

For the preview I recommend imageshack.us.
Upload the preview there and use the "direct link" provided by them. Copy that and return to M9. When posting your preview use the IMG button to attach the link to the post. A good example of a preview:


Once the preview is posted in the final entries thread it cannot be changed!

Sunday night the final entries thread closes and the voting thread will open for 24 hours. A link to it will be posted in this thread when the time comes. Anyone with over 30 posts in the forum can vote but all competitors must vote for the themes they think are best, the voting must be done like this:

1: author of the best theme
2: author of the second best
3: author of the third best

First place will recieve 3 points, second place gets 2 points and third gets one point. All the votes are then added and the winners announced.
The voting is hidden and will be revealed at the end of the 24 hours.

Important rule! You must not encourage others to come and vote for your theme, that is concidered cheating and results in immediate disqualification.

If a competitor fails to vote, he/she is disqualified from the competition. So if someone knows he/she will not be able to vote between 23.00 CET on July 23 to 23.00 CET on July 24 they must send me or jasnasto a PM with their votes.
