if you have windows Me you can convert to many form like :mp3towav & ram to rm without any programs just follow me:
1-click"start"
2-click "operation"
3-write in the blank box "winfile"
4-a new window will appear in it all the computer files click one time on the desire file
5-click on "file" from the top.
6-click on "rename"
7-finally change the file name with the extention that you want.
END of THE story........

thx for the tip, but will it uncompress the mp3? it sounds as if i am just renaming the file and not actually changing the format.

don't say it man......
I try it on my computer win Me but when you change the name don't forget to change the format......
for example:
darktycoon.mp3>>>>>darktycoon13.wav

it work with all the format almost.....
thats all.......

but it doesn't resize the bitrate which will make it not suitable for phone~

it's just changes the file type and not actually encoding the file itself. it's just a way of conning the computer into thinking it's a different file type than it is, thus the file size would be the same, and not fit on your phone.

that's right,not really a wise way though~
