i don't get it. i download themes from this site which are under nokia 6260 theme directory. My phone is n6260. Then i try to install them using pc suite, but the phone says that i need series 60 skin support version 0.00 What should I do???
cerber
Damm I think I did something to my phone, cause the message about skin support flashes every time i try to install the theme, even those i had installed earlier. Has anybody got an idea what should I do?
mr g
Them themes are meant for N series handsets only, they should'nt really be in that section.

What a f... are you talking about smartass??????????????????
If you want to feel smart write what you know and stop <swearword snipped>ing around!!!

he is right, some of them are only supported by the new N series models only, and won't work on v2 s60 models, i.e. nokia 6630...

mind your language next time, if you think you know better then why not post it yourself? he was only trying to help you with your situation and you give him abuse? dry.gif

That was my problem, exactly. We both have newer version of Series 60 skin support! Themes with "Series 60 Skin Support V0.00" are actualy made for phones with ver. 0.00. We have never firmware installed on our Nokia phones. More luck with sorted themes is all we need!!!

'Series 60 skin support' was included in the firmware of all S60 2.0+ devices. (6600 was the first).

Check locations...... C + E:/system/skins for folders that do not contain an .mbm file, and then delete these folders and reboot, then try installing the problem theme.
If this does not work, you may have to uninstall all themes, delete all non mbm folders, reboot, and reinstall themes.
Or you may just have so many previous (old, incorrectly removed) theme folders with missing mbm files, that your skin support has been corrupted (reinstall OS/format).
Or it could just be a corrupted .sis file.

Thanks for the advises, but how to reinstall OS/format, cause deleting the folders didn't help. And what do you mean many incorrectly removed themes. When I delete a theme I just go to themes and press C. Is it wrong?

Its not wrong, everyone does it, its the most logical thing to do, yet they still messed it up. bash.gif
Here is how reinstall your OS, do your own homework, this is just a recent conversation, but it covers everything if you read it correctly, ie : not jumping in and typing the code, with a flat battery, and no recent back ups, with the mmc inserted. laugh.gif

Its best to remove applications/themes with the built in 'manager' app (not the built in file manager), if you remove a theme by deleting it from the themes menu, the .mbm file is deleted from the /system/skins folder but the folder itself, and the 'manager' shortcut , and two other files (.ini /.skn) files are not removed. Like uninstalling a program on your pc, but still having the desktop shortcut, click it, ........hang.
It can still happen even when you use the manager, but its much less often, but still worth checking for .mbm if you add/remove themes a lot.
