Are we allowed to add tips to this thread? I have one which I learnt from Zjurina - Don't make the K750i popup image transparent - it's a disaster when it comes to using it on the phone!

I am not agreed with point 5. The dark ones has by far the better colouring than all the others in the tut.

Especially with dark themes, you can create a great balance of colours. Besides that just look at all windowsblind themes/walls most downloaded are the dark/black ones. So why this point?

If you talk about the hardness to get the gradient right for the phone than i agree, but for designing black is maybe the best colour!

I knew you would say that.

But I must agree on what you say mostly.
But the thing with dark themes is: If they are TOO black, they don´t look good anymore, I think that´s what SG is pointing at.

I know you can do dark themes very well and you like them, but it is imo very difficult to get them just bright enough to work.

So I ll add also :

Take a great care to do the Actyvity Tab.

Why?

-Because when you input the Activity Menu, it
appears on the screen of the Theme Creator,
BUT the TC do not shows that there s still NO
a Tab.

and when a theme is done and uploaded, and
downloaded to the phone, people get a nice
surprise on when calling the Activity Menu, which
one appears with an ugly background (of the
background color) unocolored square !

Must add unfortunatelly that many excellent
themes, and from renamed themers had that "desease".

So if you in any case can do it - test your themes
before uploading.

Definitely test before uploading - if you can! I think my K750 themes have improved heaps since I've owned the phone itself!

Oh here is one I've learnt, because week after week I make the same mistake! Thanks to everyone who points it out to me!

Don't make the titles and softkeys too short!! The theme creator only shows one of the many possible things that each title bar can have written over it, and many of them are long titles!! You virtually need to make the titles as wide as the space that is given.
