Well i'm here guys & gals, my new k750 arrived today, wasn't expecting it for another couple of days so that was a pleasant surprise when i got home from work. I have made my first theme using the new SE themes creator, its gonna take some gettin used to so some words of wisdom from my fellow themers would be greatly appreciated..

You forgot the 'tab' image ,and dont forget you can now use .png transparent images for highlights etc...other than that,its looking pretty good.

how do you make the image transparent??

Well i'm keeping my trusted old 6600 so i will probably still make a theme every now and then.. What do you think of my first SE theme then bud??

Thanks mate , not quite sure what went on with the tab,wasn't sure how to change it, it seems like your changing the same thing over and over in SE creator and i didn't want to use the same pic for everything, i wouldn't mind knowing how to make these highlights transparent though, you could get away with it a bit more i think..not sure how much sense this makes, i'm struggling to see with my redeyes..

You use psp8 dont you?
Just create a new raster image in the relevant size (176x52 for the tab),select 'Transparent' in the color chooser,then save as .png.

You should end up with something that looks like this......

Well ive been having a little mess around with the semi-transparent highlights and what not, and i'm starting to get the hang of things.. this theme is totally different from any other i have ever made.Everything you see here is my own work, all images etc...They will get better i promise but what do you think of it, i quite like it..

very nice indeed , especially considering all the imgs are by you very nice indeed. you are learning this quick ed , i'm glad to see my pm on the hl's has helped you bud.

@ BBT, evryone last one of em was by me mate..Although the status never fitted as well as i had planned but then we learn from our mistakes so its all good. I'm gonna start going into a bit more depth so to speak, take a bit more time with it, it seems like you can knock one of these themes up in no time compared to S60..

I usually test these 2 areas before uploading:

1. cursor highlight when adding symbols (Desktop/Messaging/Write new/Text message/More/Add symbol)

2. default hightlight colour when adding new contact
(Desktop/Contacts/New contact/[3rd tab from the left])

my only crit is on the logos of ford make a 1 pixel inside stroke , to remove the chukiness of theme , also i see one side of text on softkeys can't be read , this is no prob as k750i theme creating offers the opoyion to have two colours instead of just one , may i sujest grey for the right and bblack for the left .

othwise it's fantastic , your really getting sony quick .

btw ED you still haven't told me the name of the site where you got the lizard pic from bro , me i love that sort of stuff , so could ya tell me man ...

Sorry mate i forgot about that, i'm not sure where its from though, when i told my sister i was getting a k750 she sent me a load of wallpapers for it, some quite good ones. They are all in the standard size (176x220). i can find out where they are from if you like bud??

Good work ED, but somehow those "things" in the softkeys dont fit the rest of the theme

I know exactly what you mean mate, i'm not sure why i left them there, i am still learning how to make various bits n bobs and i tend to want to put them altogether if you know what i mean..

Here is another one guys, i had a mess around with the highlights and things..

Clean and nice

@ ED very good except for the following .

1 - your missing the double hl on the tabs screen.

2 - the bg scroll colour on misc screen should be black , not dark blue , this blue does not fit the theme .

3 - the littel ferrari thing on the softkeys needs to go , it looks very amature , an out of place.

other than this great work , especially the colouring

@ BBT, noted, the theme needs a total revamp anyway, the gradient on the idle screen doesn't work on the phone, just get lots of lines, I will make some changes and make a repost..cheers mate

like much more the Ford theme.

but both are very good.

Ha ha , yeah i know mate, i'm still learning the animation side of things though. Ive only had photoshop a bit over a month..I am working on one at the minute though. BBT gave me the idea of making animated highlights aswell so watch this space. Cheers seth, much apps mate

Welcome to the metallic themers! You have got the eye for that kind of theming, i see!

The theme is great. The only thing that you have to keep in mind with tech theming is the functionality. Like for example the highs, the double is perfect only the single has some problems with the text when you using it on the phone. A bit cleaner will be for the user better but for winning challenges it is ok haha.

Overall you are the comming man!!!!!

Reminds me very much of adonis' work, this one.

@ Pat, regarding the funtionality, i've only been making SE themes for a week now mate but if you can see anything ive missed i would be grateful to here it, i probably theme different to most because i put function first, if it aint functional i won't use it no matter how good it looks, so please mate if you can see any defects i would appreciate it pointed out..
