Well then, Pat and BBT told me to try building a theme from scratch.
I had some "waiting phases" at work, meaning I looked at the progressbar while printing out some layouts, so I opened Photoshop 5 and found some 3D-render-function CS doesn´t seem to have.
This is my first try "From Scratch", what do you think, shall I go on?

Lookin very nice crystaleye, i myself made my first theme from scratch yesterday and its much more satisfying wouldn't you agree?? I love the softkeys and status on this on though bud.. I have a question though, is there an easy way to get the glass type effect like your status and softkeys??I have been using various styles in cs2 but surely there must be a quicker way to do this.. Thanks mate and keep up the good work..

@EDTHEGOOSEMAN The quickest way is:
New layer, select with the sqare marquee tool half of the softkeys area, fill it with white, then set that layer opacity to 35-50% Can't get quicker than that

@CrystalEye I dont like the softkeys that much, but the background u created is quite good

@ed: datx got it almost. What I prefer is using a gradient from 50% black to white and setting blend mode to "hard light". That´s all!

TMC entry week 99 - "whose theme is it anyway?"

Really hard work, I had 4 hours of time and it took me already 2 to get the standby looking right!!!

@Cyrstal - First of all, thank you for themeing my style.

The theme - It's gothic, it's fancy, it's different, it's me; welldone.

I love what you have done with the standyby especially the softkey bar with the overlaping cape of the reaper.

The reaper on the highlights looks great, everything is ledgible and you have done my work justice.

I like the fact that you have used methods I have used in several themes and you have obviously studied my themes.

I´m really glad that you like it, cause it was really hard work. Besides, I don´t think I´m about to win a pot with it in TMC. Because when I look at all the other entries, they look much more techy and that´s much more enjoyed by people than your style IMO.

But as long as you are happy with it, I am too.

Just had some time to go on with my theme from scratch, so here some update:

Very nice concept on this one, but you suffer the same problems I did with my latest animation. All the gradients are destroyed by the lack of color. So I would go with a static version if I were you.
No matter what, I'm sure it will look great in the end!

I see that and it really looks great! But still, the white on the bars in the animation is not looking as good. Sorry if I'm being too much of a pixel-

Ah. Now I see what you mean (I think). But that´s just the preview, looks clean on the phone!

Well, it´s supposed to be pixely, because the Electronic Voice Phenomenon in video is much about White Noise.

Ah, forgot: I used some samples from the movie "White Noise"!!

Now, I just made some new Signature for myself. What do you all think? Useable or not usable?
I´m still not sure how big I should make Sigs. This one looks quite huge on the board I think.

I belive.... But the Curse theme look me at first sight (primarily softkeys and statusbar) by way look throught glass roll and it is very impressive. But it is only my opinion (I don´t know why, simply I see it this way)...

At all events looks this theme very nice!!!

And your new sig - It´s COOL and i think, that is usable (mmm... maybe smaller would be better, but I don't mind - I don't believe that someone have been using lower resolution, than 640x480 )
