Hi everyone. I just got the new PhotoShop, Adobe PhotoShop CS. Upon getting it, I realised how little I knew about PhotoShop.

Just reading through the Theming Challenge Wk 17, I saw Keiboys tut, and that gave me an Idea.

Y dont we start a thread, with tutorials on how to do effects, work with the tools, and teach some themers to make really kick a$$ themes in PhotoShop.

Is this a gd idea, or am I just blowing smoke??

the main thread for tips and tricks is here -> http://www.mobile9.com/invboard/index.php?showtopic=989#

Maybe it should be pinned to the top of the theming topic?

Well, I was thinking of this thread being the home of a collection of tutorials. With theme specific PhotoShop tips. So that peeps can have one specific area to read up on, and get better at themeing.

Themeing tips like the thread that Very created, are excellent and all. But if we don't know how to create some dazzling effects, like stone or metalic, then we arent going to get very far.

It's just that this community is almost reliant on good quality themes, and the good themers are starting to stop/retire/go elsewhere. And so we need a nw generation of themers, that can learn off of the skills of the old ones.

I agree, although not everyone uses Photoshop, which is why the thread was just a genreal tips and tricks thread.

Personally I'd welcome any tutorials, although I'm not sure how valid they'd be on Photoshop v4 crybaby.gif

haha.gif maybe u shuld look at gettin a new v. of Photoshop, altho I'm sure some of the tips will be very helpful. If we get n e that is...

I can barely afford to buy food at the moment, so I'm pretty certain the missus would not be best pleased if I come home with a nice new copy of Photoshop CS rifle.gif
Keithamus
Haha, spose it is ok for me. Just livin at home without need to actually spend n e money....

theres so much someone can help you with, if you want those tutorials there are loads on the web.

the only way ur gonna get better at making themes isn't just by getting new techniques, but also by making themes and experimenting with them,
the only i learn is watch peoples work and try to immitate, by discovering by myself how to do the effects, hence you learn better than looking at tips.

remember they can teach you the basics, but a to truly master, is to rely on yourself thumbsup.gif

hope that's a good tip laugh.gif

wallbash.gif I remember those days. A distant memory

Good tip adonis. The competition is the best place to get advice and tips on theming, but sometimes step by step guides can help you when others can't.

If I knew anything, I'd be sharing wacko.gif
