So.. whats missing in the Sony Ericsson Themes Creator, beyond simply adding new devices, how can they improve it ?, what problems do people have with it ? Whats your wish list in a theme creator tool ?

some improvements:
-save the last used colours for text and stuff, (saves from finding the exact combo everytime, and having to copy and paste it from other fields)
-show animations and stuff when previewing the theme.

Wishlist for the theme application:

-save last location where you imported images from
-save last used colours (indeed)
-better interoperability between versions (no 'bright pink fields' where there are transparent images used)

Wishlist for themes:

-Changeable icons
-Op logo should be optionally removable
-Flash animation should be supported within the theme

Can someone elaborate on the 'bright pink fields' issue, Mac or PC version, phone type selection etc ? Ive never had that prob before.

PC version, both 1.6 and 1.7 do it, I suspect the themes concerned may well be themes made on previous versions, but I'm not sure of that.

Basically the transparent area of an image (like highlight for example) gets filled with bright pink colour. Ruins the previews, but afaik it doesn;t influence the theme on the phone in any way.

Oh yeah, it's just occurred to me that it's only transparent .gif files that have this problem. I only use .png myself and have never had this happen to my own themes.

I've also only noticed this on K700 and S700 themes, but that's probably because i work with those the most and does not necessarily mean it doesn't appear on other models too

I didn't know you could save transparency in gif format! Oh well, if it looks like that I won't bother...

added in more for agree with others for other details would like to imo...as colour saved etc...and:

1. the icons...great if that could change...and animated...for now when selected it's bigger.

2. flash supported in theme..(Vlam that's great)

3. imo..highlight should do the same as ironic style..that's flash or animated them. that'll be so cool..at least..could make flash or animation for highlight.

4. better if also some fonts to choose and can change..for some like basic fonts...time new roman , comic sans , brushcript..etc..

All good comments and ideas. Some are more for the actual theme ability in the phone which is quite fixed.. im thinking more just the actual creation software.

an export function for the preview screens would be nice, so you don't have to take a screenshot and cut it down in photoshop. Would save some time on my side.

imho, a java screenshot app for on the phone would be even better anybody care to develop one?

perhaps an auto color apply option...wher it applies the colour for the text and such depending on the wallpaper itself?

I've always wanted a created by field (like on TCP) so when people open the theme in the tc it will say whom its author is

An automatic "Theme Rating System" wouldn't go a miss.
