There is a bug in that creator! When i was using it for k700 the second screen (menu) was showing a strange line into it. Just under the status. I could not get this done without that line. So glad i could find the creator 1.6!

Okay, just tested it out. The theme will still work on the phone, just the preview is screwed by that line on the desktop.

Personally, I'd still prefer to use the old version purely, rather than mucking about with graphics to make the preview perfect

I'm still on 1.5 as well - when I tried 1.6, any transparent images I had in my theme appeared BRIGHT PINK in the software.
(was fine on the phone), but made it a hassle to develop properly...

Im using 1.7 now,

I haven't seen any bugs yet,
It was mentioned that some of the images have a line through them in k700i mode,but its fine for me.

I'm getting the exact same problem (as outlined above) with version 1.7

So, it's back to 1.5 for me...

@ELTON, than you are lucky! i really want to do themes for the k750 but also k700. With this line i can't make them, hope that they will bring the 1.8 soon.

Tis strange that. They might have fixed it and replaced the installer. Might download it again tonight to see if that's the case.

True. Just means I have to remove the line and put the image behind it so it shows properly. Just a little annoying, that's all

I doesnt apear on my v800 screen, just on the k700 so far i noticed!

for version 1.7..some bugs..also for V800 and Z800
but it's not serious one coz saved inmage and erased this little black line when do the preview for post...
the bugs for Z800 I did is the indicator signal for external screen. for other parts..it's perfect..
but wish will have 1.8 or next .

I doubt a 1px black line in the Desktop preview screen would prevent a farily skilled theme maker to create a theme, but anyway... Fortunately, I know this issue is fixed for the coming version, which is good.

True, all phones (or phone families) are individually set up. Thus a bug for a K700 preview will not affect the V800 previews or the other way around.

Checking the release notes, there are many important updates and bugfixes that have been made. I would definately go with a version as recent as possible.

Most important, I guess, is to upgrade to something newer than 1.50, since the infamous TAR padding bug was fixed for 1.60. Then there are some image sizes and stuff for some models updated to 1.70 etc. etc.

I would see no reason to run any version other than the latest one. Doing that would might just cause trouble due to bugs that have been fixed recently.

Just my 2 cents.

I tried this too, and found out that happens for GIF 89a images with transparency (but not for e.g. PNG files). Quite annoying! They will have this fixed for the next release; until then, I will stick with PNG:s for my images that require transparency.

Hi there - you seem to know a lot about the different versions of the theme creator.
Can you tell me if there is a fix/workaround to the problem I have outlined above?

In any version AFTER 1.50, I get bright pink areas in the preview screens for any images which have transparent areas.
This does not affect the image on the phone, but it very difficult to see the theme properly in preview...

Has anyone noticed the .thm size when opening and saving with 1.7?

I never used 1.6 so it may be the same for that,but after creating a theme with 1.5 and then opening and saving in 1.7 they all seem to have lost about 30-40kb?

perhaps more compression?

I just started my 1st theme for the k750... and I've noticed that my softkey images won't show! Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

Actually the default BG was overlapping the softkey image... wierdness

There's also the bubbles themes by valhala for the K750 (btw that's the theme that inspired me to make one for the K750 )
