i came across this email by Gary Larson, the creator of the Far Side cartoons. (pls search around if u dunno who he is. his works of humour are SOLID!
he wrote this email to websites that displayed his works without permission.
i think it's beautifully written & able to get his message across politely & effectively.
somehow, it relates to how some of us feels.

Anyway.... yes that's a good idea verysoon... it's oh so hard to control things on the net but I know for sure I felt robbed when somebody else was showing off my themes

with his website showcasing his works, spawn suffered the most. couldn't remember which websites stole from him, it's at esato forum.
he contacted them, but i wonder what's the outcome.
btw, only our nice vlamm here is on topic..... the rest....sigh

how much is it to copyright themes? we could copyright every single theme on mob 9 or can't that be done beacause the images weren't made by us?

Thats why I get so annoyed as I often make my own images but it takes forever and nobody notices

i remember august had told me about 2months ago that someone had taken one of my themes and pimped it out as one of his so i tried emailing the guy but of course no response

man, i hate it when people try to take credit for something that's not theirs/they didn't do

Really don't know how many since I don't have an access to all available sites offering T610 themes but from what I know and have seen, probably two also by that juan_je something guy at e**** (it was august too who first noticed it).

Well, he could have stolen our themes but I was able to get back at him when I openly posted (for everyone to see) on the thread that I started at e****. I really told him that I know what he has done and that I am really offended. Well, he never showed up again from then on.

As the guy was banned from e**** (and assumed a few new identities that were also banned) there is a chance the thread was deleted.... I remember it though

as I recall he gave a link to his site and said free themes for everybody and he also wanted people to add their themes to his site. A few ppl had a look and there were some awfully familiar themes there

wow my themes are good enough to be stolen , how did you find that site? maybe we could cauch others out the same way

edit: confermed, i saw my mgs ones in the game pack (i installed rar) also verys lemmings one, jefs one also this person at esato whom requested a ssx theme and others e.g scubs

we probably can't and also it'll probably cost too much for what it's worth if we did (unless someone knows a friend which is a lawyer and they're good and wont charge money )

I can't remember how I found the site - might have even been a link from here? It was a new site that's only been up for a short while.

Isn't it funny how we all have mixed opinions about theme thieves? On one hand we hate them for the stealing thing, but on the other, we're flattered that they deem our work to be worthy of spreading.

@simon, i was thinking the same , but they still could ask for permission, at the moment m9 has a contract with me that they'll be the only ones that can host my themes apart from if i host them ( sorry i was dreaming again )

and they haven't even acknowledged what site they got them from either. Bitc*es

i think there should be a copyright notice at the bottom of each post saying the contents in this gallery are copyrighter by there creators and by mobile 9, distrubutiing these files without permission is against the law and you may be prosicuted!
