Incentive!, ... or how to reward active members Options

Reading through the forum I come across suggestions for changes in the achievement system all the time. But one thing - a real reward that actually entails more than just a 'good' reputation' - nobody seems to have thought about so far.

Why not use the 'premium features' as a reward for really meaningful contributions to the site. That would be a real incentive for the membership. It would also give the thousands of people in this world without access to hard currency or PayPal a chance to earn unrestricted membership.

I doubt it would have much, if any, impact on your earnings since people with access and/or resources are not likely to wait for it. After all they'll get achievement points for joining. But it would be a good marketing strategy for the site while encouraging members to get involved on a higher level.

An idea worth considering, don't you think?
