Topic: Make 20 png icons for Apple devices (iPhone/iPod/iPad/etc.) Description: Make the following 20 icons: App store Calculator Calendar Camera Clock Contacts iPod iTunes Maps Messages (sms) Notes Phone Photos Safari (internet browser) Settings Stocks Weather YouTube + Any 1 social media icon of your choice (e.g. Facebook/Twitter/StumbleUpon/Google/etc.) Icon size: 120 x 120px (Developers recommend leaving 8-10px transparent around your icon – but drop shadow or glow effects can be used in this space) or 256 x 256px (Developers recommend leaving 20-25px transparent around your icon – but drop shadow or glow effects can be used in this space) You can use this standard button as your guideline for shape & size: (IMG:http://i1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa398/EricMMann/DC/Guideline-Shape120.png) or (IMG:http://i1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa398/EricMMann/DC/Guideline-Shape.png) Resources: If you dont have Photoshop you can use this set of png shapes to make your icons: Download Here is a collection of Photoshop custom icon shapes that I've collected for myself Download (this is a Photoshop csh file) Also see post #2 for Photoshop users. For some inspiration you can look at these icon packs: Link you can also browse the iPhone galleries here on M9 for ideas/inspiration: Link You will post the following in the Entry Thread: 1. All your icons on one 800 x 800px preview (you will have to resize them to fit the preview) 2. A layered file ( a psd or xcf file) for at least 1 of the icons (if you used only the resource shapes provided you can skip this) 3. Gallery Link (please add DC 51 to your icons name when uploading) How to add icons to the gallery: Upload Don’t know device Themes Icons (you need to resize your preview to 500x500px and place the 20 icons in a zip folder first) This topic will be open for 2 weeks until Sunday 27 May at 18:00 GMT. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/oops.gif) I just visited the developer site again & realized that I looked at the wrong page before (IMG:style_emoticons/default/oops.gif)
The icon size should be 120 x 120px (not 256 x 256) for those who started you can continue using the bigger size or re-size to 120px - I will accept entries for both sizes. Sorry for my mistake everyone! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/surrender.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif) |
