Sony Ericsson announced the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 (code name Rachel), their first phone based on the Android OS. It will be available in Q1 2010 in 2 colors - sensuous black and luster white.

The phone looks pretty exciting with 2 new features - Timescape & Mediascape.

Timescape lets all your communication with a person come together in one place. Facebook, Twitter, emails, photos, text messages - all gathered, so you don't have to open loads of different apps to see what's going on.

Mediascape is a smart way to get all the music, photos and videos you want from your favourite friends and artists. It accesses content from everywhere – your phone, YouTube, PlayNow – and presents everything for you.

Here are some pics!

Why did they rename it? Because of Nokias X3?
That somehow doesnt fit in the line: X1, X2, X10 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Plus, I hope they will add some more networks to their TimeScape. Currently they only list Twitter and FaceBook.

That really is a great phone. Also the HTC HD2 is worth the attention. Windows Mobile and Android are two really good Operating Systems. I was a little skeptical about Sony Ericsson phones, but I can't say a bad word about any of the phones from the X-series.
