Hi
I've been searching around forums and sites looking for a guide or something like that on how to make or edit hid-files for different software. the one I want to make will be for the k700i. And if I get it done I will post it here at mobile9. So does anyone have any knowledge of what software is required to make these? Any help would be appreciated. |

HID stands for Human Interface Device or in other terms functions in this case as a remote program for certain applications through the use of bluetooth. The hid-files available by default on the k700i can control the desktop, Windows Media Player and powerpoint-presentations.
I have found and added to my list one hid for winamp and for Power DVD. But now I intend to try and make one myself, I have made a pic for the screen now I only need to know how you make a HID-file eg. what software you need to do it. by the way do I have to use a hex workshop or something like that to find out the hex-codes for the commands in the software I want to do a remote for? Don't really know if it's hex but they are combinations of two digits and they include letters so I think it's safe to assume it's hex. USAGEID = "29" equals Escape-button in the desktop HID available on the k700i eg the Hex-code for "play" in most media-player hid's seem to be "05" |

Never mind found the solution.
The hid file is only a renamed zip archieve *.tar and inside is the *.jpg and the *.kcf file Now all I have to do is find the right codes for the commands and I'm set |

yes. it was in the k700i section...but the only problem it was in the section for thememaking :bash:
the sony ericsson section would have been even more appropriate. moved to downloads anyway :good: |

hid is not just an application...other hid stuff is things like a mouse...keyboard...
it's a device which is used by us humans to interact with the pc...you can use hid files with your k700 to control your winamp, desktop using bluetooth. |

that's not a hid device..it's a process, an application.
imagine instead of using your mouse...you use your k700 to control the cursor...that's a HID. |

Hmm I thought I new the solution, but I only know half the solution it seems. I have created the image-file and the kcf-file which are supposed to go in the *.hid file. But when I try to compress these to an archieve both zip and rar and renaming them to hid.
I've even tried directly to hid compression. I can open the hid-files with winrar and perfectly see the jpg and kcf file afterwards but if i send it to the phone it says it recieves it, but then it says "operation could not be executed" or something like that, my phone is in swedish so do not take that sentence for serious. With zero compression I get about the same structure as the existing hid-files. Media-player etc when I look at them in "Notes". But it still doesn't work. |
