IVC - Internet video converter 1.41
What can this good looking peace of software do? 1.The most important-riping-you can download streaming videos from youtube, google, dailymotion, metacafe and many other sites :good: 2.Convert videos between wmv,mpg,3gp,avi,mp4,etc. 3.It comes with the built in encoders-FF mpeg and Mencoder ,so no searching over the net is needed :good: 4.Download and play flash(.swf) animations 5.Create your own streaming video(.flv) from video files :) What`s most important-it`s an open source solution. That means it`s free and you can download it with the installation and without it if you want to modify it in any way :) It`s not small but it`s not large-18Mb,so even users with the dial-up connection should be able to download it :) Take a shot, try it :) You`ll find it very usefull :good: |

Media info
The fastest and the easiest way to get to know the structure of any multimedia is to open it in MediaInfo, free software(open source project) created by the SourceForge.net programing team :good: This small program(1,4MB),recognize all known types of audio and video files, and takes the "hidden" meta data out, presenting them in the main user interface. When you drag and drop audio file,it reads the type of the compression, bitrate, number of channels, frequency and all existing ID tags, etc. When you open a video file, you`ll get a complete data about the compression type, screen size, frame rate, compression level, aplication used to create the file, all comments, etc. The most important-link to the official site of the codec needed to open that type of video  After analyzing the file, you can save the log in various formats-CSV,HTML or TXT. There is an interesting option-you can open MediaInfo english language support file(en.csv) in Microsoft Excel and beggin translating it to your native language :) When the translation is complete, send it to mediainfo.sourceforge.net,and they will most probably enclose it within the update versions of the program :) Have fun ;) This post has been edited by razbgd: Jul 30 2007, 03:58 AM |

Undelete plus
Only one plus?I would give this peace of magic 10 pluses at least :) Undelete Plus is a small utility(only 1068Kb!!!) that will scan your hard drive for all files that can be undeleted and attempt to salvage the file for you. Sounds unreal? It isn't. You might not know it, but when you tell Windows to erase a file, Windows essentially does something like say "OK, I am now going to consider this file null and void, and will allow other data writing operations to use the space that it occupies". In other words, no actual 'erasing' of the file occurs until Windows has a need to write over the hard drive space that the file resides on. Undelete Plus and programs like it do a thorough scan for files that are 'still there' on the hard drive and/or files that have enough data remaining that they can be salvaged. Needless to say the sooner you attempt to recover the file the better your chances; also, smaller size files have a higher chance of being salvaged, and disks that have not been defragemented are better candidates for file recovery. I`ve managed to recover files that has been "deleted" a couple of months ago  Of course-it won`t be like that with all the files, but still-it`s a great piece of FREE software :10: |
